Thread: An offer to the starving Chilastra Medics in Bestine

The idea of having patients bring in their own medpacks is good but flawed for one simple reason. Why would ne1 spend more money buying Med Packs Bs and C when they can just bring a ton of As in and givethem to me and then say heal...

Personally, I dont wanna sit there using some1 elses crappy med As. Not only would it take forever to heal a fully black HAMed toon with As, the xp would be pretty sad.

Right now using my own experimented Med Bs, i can heal for 60-80 and have even fully BlackHAMed toons out in 10 mins.

So the idea in theory is good, but in reality had to pull off.

Thanks for the feedback. I want to see if we can do something here that helps the medics and and stimulates the economy (and my store )

This may need to wait a bit -- basically we need to get the vendor closer to where you are healing. That way you can tell them if they want to get healed, to go the vendor in the other room, buy YOUR medpak B and come back for the heal.

So, if I could build traffic to my store, the medic could heal there. Once I build trust with the medic, I could set up the medic with access to the vendor so that they can post without my involvment (they would just have to promise not to pick up all the resource offers ).

The thing is, I am setting up a supply line, so they will always have access to resources at 2cr/resource (the price I ask scouts and miners to post) right there where they heal.

Does this work better?

I forgot one other big benefit if we go with the modified idea. The medic and I control what is on the vendor. We can insure that there are no As to buy.

Well that might work if everyone accepts the deal. But whats to stop people from saying fine, I'll look for another healer?

I like the idea in terms of business saavy. But hard to pull off I think...Youd have to unionize the whole medic profession in ur area and then make sure other vendors dont try to undercut...

Another things is, what keeps a person from buying As off the bazaar and just giving them to a novice medic and saying here, heal me with these packs...Free xp no cost...

Sure it might take a while, but hell it would be cheap...

Your medic might lose a lot of business that way.

But there are some interesting points you might wanna think about fixing and the idea could work...

I think we are on to something.

The number one reason people would come is convienence. Since only high level meds are used, healing would be much faster.

Also, remember, shop's can't be in town. Sure they can go to the medic in town, but they have to walk there.

Since player run stores will have higher end items, they will attract more seasoned players. They aren't going to want to wait around in the med center. Their biggest fear is probably getting there and finding a newbie medic who ONLY has As (or worse yet, no medic at all).

Once I build a decent foot trafic to the store, it should provide a steady stream of patients who WANT B and C healing.

Also, I just realized, as I climb up merchant I can support multiple vendors. I can put in a "medical" vendor specifically for the store medics. You can then build up a patient clientel who know to come to my store. You can also have your clientel drop off organics on the medical vendor. All I ask is that the medics take care of the maint on that vendor since I won't be making any money off of that.

All you need is three or four medics to set up shifts to man the store.

This could be a win-win for the merchant and the vendor.

Actually you are now talking about setting up a totally seperate clinic from the med center.

This could be a great idea. People who lag in citys or just wanna stayout of hte hussle and busslecould come out to you store and get healed there and shop. I think you can build med facilities wth high enuff architects. You could basically create a little outpost town where people could get gear and heals. That would definately work. Get some well known medics out there and you could definately draw players, since they would know that there would be high level healing out there..

Could definately work out...

Since you would be away from the city, that would definately control the problem with unionizing the medics and people getting pack As from the bazaar and bringing them in. People would also know exactly how much it would cost to get healed and that would be nice...they could budget it for it...

Definately a possibity...I'd love to hear how it goes...

Maybe ill see if I can set something like this up on Ahazi...

Thanks for the help Elenora.

I'll focus on building my store trafic and medical network and report back.

If you are going to do this on Ahazi, you will need to find an architect to sell you a house, and an Artisan with at least bus III to own and operate the house. They can then place the vendor and provide the required access to the vendor.

Line up scout and miners as suppliers. The scouts are also likely to be your initial patients. Once you get it kick-started, word of mouth should help you out. Make sure to get a waypoint to the clinic and email it out so people can easily find it.

I'll report back once I get things going on mine. May take me a week to build the traffic.

I posted this on Chilastra, but wanted to get feedback from all medics:

Some of you are having difficulties making ends meet because of a lack of tipping. I have a solution if you are interested.

I have recently opened a Store just SW of Bestine (Tatooine -1819 -4060). What I suggest, is rather than carry your medpaks on you, offer them for sale on my vendor. I'll purchase them and list them on my vendor at the same price. (I get the benefit of the foot trafic). Also, if you need resources, (I will be selling resources for 2.5cr/resource).

Get your patients in the habbit of picking up the medpaks they need at my store. To heal, they will have to give you the medpaks (and so there will be a need to buy them).

You build in your profit margin into the price of the medpaks.

You can also offer my stimpaks for sale. Those however, I will need to markup a little (This wookie's got to eat too!). Send me an ingame email if you are interested.

All medics -- what do you think of this idea? Is this workable?
