Thread: Combat healing 3 improvements needed

1. Feedback when I try to heal someone in my group. There's nothing that tells me the system is 'processing' my /healdamage command.

2. Improved response times. Healing messages come back very very slowly now, sometimes 10 or 15 seconds after I've pressed the hotkey to fire it off. Since I have no feedback from #1, I've often sent another heal or 2 before I finally hear that my initial one worked. Mind you, this was in a 2-player group, 110ms ping, 20fps, 0% packet loss last night. This needs to be improved - healing is definitely timing-critical in battles!

3. Similar to #1, a timer of some sort that lets me know when I can try another heal. Wound healing in medical centers has a message that flashes up when the 30 second timer has expired. I'd like something similar for damage healing, or a grayed-out button ala EQ which gives me some indication I can't yet try /heal again.

Medics need to get Combat XP for being in a group while it's killing regardless if they actually shoot or not.

Medics need to get Faction Points for being in a group while it's killing regardless if they actually shoot or not.

Medics need to be able to heal from more than 2m away from their target.

Medics need to be included on the autosplit list (or make the autosplit WORK, I've *never* seen loot, ever..)

Inventory system needs to be reworked to make dragging items far easier and less "swimmy" than it currently is. Have the time when I try and move a new stim pak to a quickbar I ended getting the radial menu, or dropping it somewhere else.

Sub compoents of B+ packs need to complete quicker, making kits in the field is stupidly slow.

You need to be able to keep controlling your character while the Crafting Screen is up. If you try and craft while running you cannot stop moving till you close the Crafting Screen.

Follow need to be FIXED so that it actually follows and doesn't just move you when the other person is moving. This is a strange bug since for some people follow works, but for others it never turns them.

And the last thing that the Devs can't help with.. groups need to realize just how many resources a medic uses keeping them alive and tip tip tip!

Hmm, I don't see this happening, it is easily exploitable. I just join a big hunting group, auto-follow the leader, go take a nap and come back when my Combat XP is maxed.

You can heal from 5m away. Any more than this and you are getting into the realm of the Combat Medic.

Yeah I've never seen auto-split work, either. We should all /bug this.

Agreed, it's very clunky.

Did you know that if you hit ALT to toggle the mouse mode while the crafting or other screens are up the screens disappear and you can control your character? hit ALT again and your screens reappear.

For me this only happens when I hit follow while I am auto-running. Click off auto-run, then use follow and it works fines. I agree it should be fixed, though.

They fixed following while on auto run not long ago (and it works for me).

Agreed - lack of faction for healing in PvP is a HUGE issue. As someone whose goal in SWG is to spend most of my time PvPing after I get my skills, it irks the heck out of me that I'm going to have to run endless faction missions to replace any lost faction while my group will have gained a ton in battle. And heals STILL lag behind the combat queue. They show up long after they should. This is why I do one special at a time. Even then it's late.
