To only get Ranged Weapons Support specialist and not Master Marksmen?

If so is the only way to raise ranged weapons support by firing on of the 3 types of ranged weapons in the Master Marksmen line?

To become a combat medic you have to have Ranged Weapon Support Ability Specialist. TO get that requires that you use some kind of weapon to earn combat experience. Doesn't matter what weapon you use, i'm using carbine and going to master carbine weapons as well as being a combat medic. You also have you have Master Medic.
