Thread: Diagnosis worth it or not?

As I understand it, you can heal wounds more often with it. Is it true or not, and should I take it if I want to heal myself and other constantly in battle,?

Also, is there any incentive to become master medic or not ( supposing I dont want to go to any profession needing master medic as a requirement?)

Thx to the medic community for answering those.

Master Medic gives you the schematics for Stim D's and some buffs to your medic stats.

it wraps up completely your healing of white bars (inuries) at Master Medic you have +100 treatement speed (5 seconds between heals) +75 injury teratmeant (boosts healing power) +50 medicine use (can use stim pack D and E) and the ability to make wound pack Bs and Stim Ds with more adv. components.

If you aren't going to be Master then you should just get into the pharm line and the first two First Aid skills. That allows you to use Stim D and heal your bleeding.

I think you have +100 Injury Treatment at Master Medic, right? Anyway, Master Medic rocks. It's a fantastic healer, able to make Stim D's. Even without advanced components they aren't that hard to gather resources for a pair of 50-crates. (Note--these last a LONG time.)

If you don't master it, and you don't want to make your own stims, then I agree that you'll probably like First Aid II, and Pharmacology IV best. First Aid IV and Pharmacology IV will get you the best healing you'll see without master though. Diagnostic is handier for dedicated healing, and Organic Chemistry is nice to make your own stims. Up to III you can make Stim B's and decent enough wound kits, at IV you can make C's and advanced components (nice, but a pain to get the resources).

I'm fairly certain it's only +75 injury treatment, I submitted a bug about it sometime ago, so perhaps they fixed it.

I can see that Diagnostics has affected my healing speed at all...

I set up a macro heal wounds when I am at Med Center or have my Droid out.

It uses a wound pack, pauses then uses another pack etc....

At each level of Diagnostics tired to lower the pause by 1 number and see if I could heal faster.

Nada, even at Diagnotics 4 I have not been able to use a wound pack any faster.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I noticed a small decrease in the delay time for using Stim packs at Diag 4, but again nothing at Diag 1-3.

Now I really wish I hadn't maxed it first before all the other Med trees....

Rumor...

Diagnostic speeds the time it takes to heal other's damage (note the words "other" and "damage")

So, it will not allow you to heal wounds faster, you need to become a doctor to do that and, from what I understand, I never tested it myself, you can not heal yourself any faster, just other people.

Yes, the Diagnostics line in medic is NOT INTENDED to speed up wound heals. The ONLY way to speed up wound healing is the Doctor's Wound Treatment Speed line in the Doctor profession (master doctoronly waitsabout 13 seconds between each wound heal).

Medic Diagnostics reduces the delay between damage heals (stimpacks, not medpacks). You'll find that with each level of Diagnostics, the refresh time between stimpack heals goes down by perhaps 0.5-1.0 seconds. It's worthwhile if you have a need to heal in combat as fast as possible, because it just makes a slight difference that might save you or your friends.

I'm not unconvinced that the speed line in medic is somewhat bugged. I noticed VERY little difference in anything getting to master medic. first box in doc speed and I noticed right away that all my various healing forms were MUCH faster.

If you aren't going master medic diag is one of the first that I'd drop since I suspect you aren't envisioning yourself as the groups primary healer at that point and will just be healing yourself/pet in combat. Odds are you won't need to heal that quickly for just yourself.
