Thread: How Much Medic is Right for Me?
Ok, I intended to make my new character a Master CH (did) and a Master Medic. However, mastering medic is seeming less and less appealing every time I learn something new about it. I can't seem to get a straight answer out of people, but I think that is because I haven't expressed my interest in specific enough manner.
My original intention was to have one top-end pet go toe to toe with say a dark jedi master and heal it so fast, the jedi can't kill him before we take him out. I see now this isn't extremely realistic. I would have to go combat medic to do it from a distance and that's just more skill points than possible.
Since that is out, I just want to be "good" at healing. At practically novice medic I can heal as much as 688 damage with a good stim b. This level of medictakes awhile to heal a 10K ham pet, but although it is an acceptable level of downtime for now, I would spend the points if I could use a stimpack D that healed 3 times that. Doesn't seem to be the case though and qualifying for certain stims has me somewhat confused.
What I don't care about is making stims. Im happy to buy hundreds of them a week.
I don't really care about healing wounds or curing poison or bleeding, so maybe novice medic is enough for me.
Anyway, someone pitch me on this. I would master medic if I would be an amazing healing machine, but it doesn't seem so. Perhaps novice is enough. Or maybe just a few points into a few things. Just not sure what.
Thanks in advance.
If all you are interested in is a) healing alot and b) increasing the market for my meds, you should probably drop everything but pharm 4 and as much first aid as you think you have the points for. That gets you 40 med use. Stim D's can easily be set to 40 med use by the crafter, and still have high 700's, low 800's in power. As a master doc I've healed over 2k with an 800 power stim so its certainly feasable to keep a pet alive unless its REALLY getting the snot kicked out of it.
Then just go out and buy crates of Stim D's.
Thanks for the reply. Great info.
What is the bare minimum requirements to use stim D's?
If it is indeed over 40, never buy stims from that person again =) If not, make sure that you do indeed have pharm 4 not just misremembering diag 4 or something. If you DO have pharm 4, make sure your characters "bonuses" window shows your med use at +40.
If your med use isn't 40 (and have pharm 4) contact a CSR. If your med use is 40 and the stim is less than 40, contact a CSR. Sounds like a bug.
