With all the talk of grinding out there, I was just curious... how many of us got all the way to Org Chem IV, w/o any grinding?

Everything I made, I either used or sold. Mostly used.

What I make, I use and get the med xp. I'm into Org Chem IV now and am 3/3/1 in the other trees. I think it's well balanced. Much like combat xp and the 3 weapon trees in Marksman. Once I got the 4/4/4 in rifle, pistol, and carb I had my combat xp branch full. It's one of the thingsthey did right in my opinion.

Yeah, I got to Org chem 4 without grinding, now that im a doctor im finding it harder to do it without grinding (I dont belive in throwing meds away).

I find myself now crafting enough meds to fill my med bags and then if I need the xp, start stock piling them in my house.

I have yet to really"Grind" any skill, except for Ranged Weapon Support.

Otherwise, all my Xp has come from actuallyhealing people, using the meds i make, or sellingthem on the bazar.

I grinded like a crack addict from to OCIV, and the 2 of 4 Doctor Crafting Boxes.

The reason I did most of that was because, quite frankly, you earn Med XP at a much faster rate with C-LevelStims and B-Level Medpacks then with the low-level As and Bs. And, at the time I was grinding, there weren't other high-end Doctors around to purchase highly experimented meds from.

I had enough of the A and B-Level stuff in Beta. 15pt wound heals does not a Medic Make.

I made master medic with no grinding. I just made meds when I needed them. I use meds in the field all the time on hunts.

Getting to organic chemistry IV is easy without grinding. Getting to doctor or CM crafting level IV cannot be done without grinding.

Define "Grinding". Are you refering to just making items and destroying them and only making them for their imdediate XP gain for that item? Over and Over and Over trying to power level so to speak, a skill?

I got through Medic without grinding for Medical Crafting XP by crafting Stimpack As for the first 2 levels, then Stimpack Bs for the 3rd and then Woundpack Bs for the 4th level of crafting. I did it fairly quickly, getting it in about 3 days.

From there it went all down hill. Why? Doctor's crafting is a nightmare. You need a LOT of Medical Crafting XP which takes a long time to get. I got through the first 2 levels of it by crafting Stimpack Cs and Stimpack Bs and also Woundpack Bs. It took me about 1-2 weeks to get through that and I wasn't prepared to spend 2 weeks per crafting level, so I gave up, bought out the whole Bazaar's worth of crappy inorganics and organics and then crafting like my life depended on it. I crafted BECs in Practice mode (I didn't have that when I was a medic...you young medics are lucky ^^) for hours. It took about 7 hours in total to get the last 2 levels and after that, you feel great although you fingers hurt.

But yes...I did all of medic without grinding....

I finished the entire Medic tree and most of the Doctor tree without ever slipping into "Grind Mode". I used everything I made, and crafted things to occupy myself during down time (waiting for shuttles/players, running long distances, sampling resources).

My Doctor crafting has not kept up with the other Doctor skills, but I think that' because I have continued to make normal components instead of the advanced variants.

I feel quite satisfied with my progress - I feel as though I have gotten better just by playing the game. This is a relief from the mindset of "must play so I can get better" that I experienced from EverQuest's later levels.
