If something like this has been posted before then i apologize, this is like the 2nd time i've EVER been to the medic board.

I notice alot that newb medics have a hard time getting XP with doctors around, mainly from people bitchin me out for completely healing someone's health in one shot. So i've decided to post an idea here on the Medic board. Like i said, if this has been posted before then just ignore it, but if not then tell me what you think about it.

With Heal block, you would have the following options:

1) Block everyone from healing me (Meaning only you can heal yourself)

2) Only let____ Heal me (Meaning that only the person that you've placed in the list is able to heal you, vey good idea for novice medics so that their patient can choose only the newb medic to heal them so that the medic gets xp without any interference. Medics would also have a proposal option that would send a message tot he targeted patient and request if he/she would like to be healed by only the sender)

3) Let everyone but ____ Heal me (Dunno if anyone would use this, but say you had a grudge with someone who always healed while you were trying to have a duel outside/inside of the medcenter and you just didn't want that specific person healing you. This would also work pretty much same way as 1)

4) Default Option (Pretty much where everone can heal you including yourself)

There will always be issues with newer medics feeling slighted because a Doctor with an Enhanced C or D woundpack shows up a fully heals a patient they were working on. And your idea has merit, I just don't see it being utilized enough for it to be worthwhile to implement.

In the larger Hospitals, you can always take your patient to the second floor. Or go out of town and drop a camp. Or, if you have a droid with a decent medical module, you can simply heal them outside.

There are other ways to make sure you're the only person healing player-x without resorting to adding new code for a new ability.

There is a much simpler fix then heal blocking.

Why not make it like teaching where you have to be grouped with the person in order to heal them.

Problem solved.

How about the simple solution of asking the medic if they care if you help them, before healing a patient they're working on? I don't think new code should be required for this, just some common courtesy. Doctors should be mindful of how they started out and think of those under them (as it should be with all professions).

That being said, if you hear a medic complaining about this, offer to sell them some woundpack-B's. That's all I've ever used anyways and it's worked just fine so far.

I spent a lot of time in the med center on my way to master doc. I understand the general irritation of having a doc come in and heal everyone and leave, but its not always a "malicious" thing.

I'm reasonably well known as a lurker around Theed. I've had people give me tells from the med center asking me to come heal them because they don't want to wait 30 minutes while some novice heals them 10 wounds at a time.

So remember: that doc that came in and "stole" your patients might very well have been begged from across town to come get your patient out of the hospital in 30 seconds rather than 30 minutes.

That being said, having a reverse /denyservice is all well and good, but I don't want to hear a single complaint when you forget you have me on your "you can't heal me list" and you get killed in combat cause I can't heal ya =)

Oh, and on a similar note: my healing ability/packs I use really haven't changed much since org chem 4. They just have more charges (I rarely bother to experiment effectiveness). The only thing becoming a more advanced med char has really accomplished is speeding up the rate at which I can heal.

So that person that just healed someone for 400 wounds isn't necessarily a master doc vulching, it might just be someone who spent a little time on making a decent woundpack...

As a master doc, that is what most of my entire tree is about - wound healing.

If medics dont like that, they can go heal damage in groups, because thats what a medic gets all the bonuses to.

Sorry if I feel like taking a class which I worked hard to get to a certain state, and actually using it to do what its intended for.

Ill suggest that master combat professions dont shoot things next.

Thats compairing apples and oranges. There tend to be more things to shoot at for each level of skill, then there will ever be targets that need healing.

And we cant realy split them up in groups by how many wounds they get and get messages like A has to many wounds for you to heal, or A is not worth your medicine spend on it :-)

I can immagen people calling a docter to get there special treatment because of time concideration. But i do hope those Master Docters who dont need to grind the XP anymore keep thinking about there time as little medic and leave the next generation some subjects to use there medicine on :-)

Its all about giving eachoter some space to work and train.

First off the medic should not be in the hospital.. The cantina is the fastest xp for a Medic.. Hospitals are doctors playground..

And Cantinas are CMs really.. but usually a Medic can go sit in a cnatina and get great xp even with a CM there
