Just wondering, gonna buy a food and chem station soon and wanted to know weather or not I should be searching for the highest quality one or if any old thing will do the same.

It's hard to say right now. What the high quality crafting stations and tools are supposed to do is to decrease your failure rates and increase yoru success rates. It won't affect the stats of the stuff you craft directly, it would only improve your chances of getting something like an Amazing success.

Some experimentation I had on either the Artisan or Architect forums suggests there is a bug in the crafting tools so that a negative rated tool is actually a lot better than a positive rated one (so -14 ends up being better than +14). I have not seen the same experiment done of stations, but some folks suggest this is also the case there, although I thought some of my own personal testing suggested that the positive stations actually were better than the negative stations, but I have nothing concrete on that.

Overall, though, I would say to get a negative tool and wht would appear to be the best crafting station int he game... a droid crafter. Don;'t ask me why, but my droid crafter appears to be far superior to my +44 crafting station.

Hmm, I have mixed results so its hard to tell for certain. I crafted a couple of things last night, one with my droid (Which you cant tell what its crafting station rating is grrrr) and one with someones crafting station that was rated +37. Both were with tools that are +13. I crafted a poison and had one failure during expermentation. Now the only reason that that is strange is becuase I am a MCM and my chance of failure is 0%, so in all likely hood I should not have had any problems at all. This was done on the +37 station. Then I used my droid for a WoundPack. I made the Woundpack with no failures and I had a 15-20% chance of failure during the crafting. This was done with my droid, which I imagine does not have that good of a crafting station.

So I guess what this adds up to is... who knows really

I believe the crafting tools do benefit from a positive number, dont know about the stations.

I was crafting out some 90med use Enhance D's the other day, I was using 4 different tools to get them done in a hurry, and kept getting fail after fail on the experimentation with one tool, but not the others. The tool that was failing all the time had a -14 rating. All my other tools had a +8 rating.
