Thread: Does anyone else find Crafting Annoying?

Hey Everyone in crafting field. I would just like to get an idea of how frustrating it is to try and craft things. I know for myself there have been a number of times where I was prepared to quit SWG just because of the frustration I felt trying to craft an item that did not suck monkey feces. Allow me to give you an example:

I am a 4444 medic, not master because I needed the skill point in a different area. I logged on to the Bria Server and looked in my little backpack of stims and wound packs. I noticed that I was short 1 health wound pack B. I usually carry 2 of each wound pack, I just like having plenty on hand. So anyway Ihead to my 41+crafting station and begin crafting the necessary components. Low and behold about 500 units each of meat, inorganic minerals, and inorganic gas (if I rember the resource correctly), I had finally made 1 single, solitary Health wound pack B that had an experimental success that didn't bring down one or more of the stats. I found myself using practice dozens of times so that I didn't have a POS component being used in the crafting process, can someone tell me the reason this is called practice if it doesn't help to actually create a success. Needless to say this process of creating 1 Health Wound Pack took approximately 30 minutes. And for those of you who would skewer me, thinking that I am a fool and use low quality crafting kits, I have 14+ kits, which I'm told have 99 eff.

Am I the only one who see a problem with crafting and experimenting? Does practice actually do anything other than make nothing out of your resourses? And why is it that when I get a moderate success or even a good success, for that matter, do I often find that the stats drop instead of increase? I don't want or need a factory churning out a billion (exagerated number) stims or what-not, so please don't tell me to work on crafting a schematic and attempting to get an ample supply of resources to fill it. For the most part I do not make any money off of the med supplies I create and I use my stims and wound packs for people I know and whenever I am in the med center playing doctor. For anyone who has taken the time to read this, thank you, and feel free to flame me as much as you feel is neccessary, given this is my first ever post.

And for any Dev's that have read this please alleviate the tedium that is created by the low success rate of crafting.

Yes.

This is in the medic top 5. Check the stickied posts up top for more info. It gets better in doctor but I guess you won't be going that high. You may want to consider getting a factory.

Practice won't help you here though, it just gives you a 5% xp bonus for the object (i.e. it's for grinding).
