I feel that medics as a whole profession need to band together and speak in a unified voice to the community. We need a union of sorts. An orginisation that addresses the concerns of the novice medic to the master doctors and master combat medics. Let's stand together and let everyone know that we aren't going to take it anymore, and what needs to be fixed in our skill trees, and what needs to be implemented. And most importantly, we need to develope goals of what is good for the medic profession as a whole, and work towards those goals together.

I am going to start by putting my suggestions for discussion.

1. Payment for our services. Need to discuss what is a fair price for our services ranging from the novice medic to the masters of the medical field.

2. Finding artisans that want to act as wholesale distributors for our hard to get medical supplies that we have not the time to hunt down and gather.

3. Medical professionals that want to start and run their own private clinics and are looking for staff to help them.

4. Medical Center etiquette. Letting it be known that we as a medical community are not going to tolerate insolent/belligerent customers or would be customers. The abuse needs to stop.

So come on and get on the bandwagon my fellow un-appreiciated anddedicated medical professionals. And post your suggestions.

Remember. Individualy we are a whisper in thier ear, together we are a shout.

I do agree with you that medical professionals from all parts should begin to attempt to unify for the sake of the profession. The benefits are many to both us as professionals and to the gaming public at large that need our help on a daily basis. The game is now a week old and many factors are beginning to come together. Many of the first medics in the game are reaching the novice doctor track and the overall economy is starting to hum now.

I would encourage medics from across the galaxies to begin to work with others of our profession to organize into such a fashion. We, in the Bria Galaxy, are starting to try to organize under the banner of the Tatooine Medical Alliance. Now it is true that the TMA is not styling itself a 'union' of sorts, though its function will be similiar to many unions. We are also not styling ourselves an economic alliance with concerns over fees or tipping, but primarily with communication of vital information across the profession. Now I believe that there may wind up being many types of unions/alliances formed over the next few weeks due to the varying needs of the medics across the many galaxies. I would highly encourage this and I would also encourage those many unions/alliances to try to cooperate with each other in the interests of advancing our profession and the game in general.

I am personally very excited about these possibilities and will be watching with great interest as to what will be developed over the coming weeks and months.

Beneran,

Thanks again for your continuing efforts on the behalf of the medic profession, and thus, SWG as a whole.

In a game this size, there will certainly be those who will jump to your side and help in any way possible, but there will also be those who flame and accuse you of being a greedy money-grubber. Thankfully, I am in the first group. I am certainly willing to help out in any way I can, short of not healing. Like most medics, I will heal in the following order: friends, courteous players, good tippers and then the quiet ones. Those who do not listen to my advice to heal BF first or burst into the room shouting simply don't get healed until they settle down. I don't have a problem with the first groups, that system works out fine for me. For the obnoxious people who demand zero down-time interacting with people so they can get back to blasting butterflies, our attempts to work together for their benefit will be misinterpreted and only draw more fire.

Bottom line: I'm in, let me know what I can do, but don't expect to fix the annoying ones. (Just like real life, no?)

There is already a union formed called the IGHA. Inter Galactic Health Association. It spans all servers and was formed in beta.

Your first suggestion was already discussed by the union. And is still open to debate if you disagree. We charge to cover our costs. Which is 1 credit per ever 2 wounds for medpack As and 1 credit per wound for Bs and higher. The other three suggestions will be discussed on Starsider at the Oasis on Tatooine at 6pm EST on Saturday. If you need a waypoint for the location, email me ingame Sammson McGregor.

A summery of the meeting will be posted.

Any other IGHA members from beta, please post your updates on what your doing on other servers. Thank you

Sammson McGregor,

Novice Doctor

IGHA doesn't really function anymore. There's a small site and a forum at http://www.plasticboy.com/igha/ and it's been very quiet as you can tell. I think Sammson made it.

Wow I felt the same way after a couple of days of playing. I thought about the whole union thing but never thought it would work.

Maybe I was wrong?
