Thread: How do you determine what stimpaks you can use?

Sorry guys for this silly question... I'm just a "novice" medic with no skill boxes yet filled so you can consider me a complete n00b. Now I realize I can only make small stimpak A's but where the heck do you determine what stimpaks you can use? I heard that novice medics can use stimpak B's. Is this true or false and where do you determine what you can use so I don't have to ever bug this board again with a silly question like this.(:

Well I think I may have just answered my own question - I didn't realize there weren't that many stimpaks at novice. I think you got stimpak A, B, and C - D I assume is not usable unless you advance to an elite class. So basically you can use stimpak A, B at novice level but you need to go to pharm III or IV to use most stimpak Cs, correct?

If you look under your skills, you will see one called "medicine use". You can then compare that number to the medicine use on the stim to determine if you can use it. You are correct that you can use A and B stims at novice.

Ah cool so that # actually shows up on the stim, thats sweet and thats the part that I was missing. Never knew it showed up on the stimpak but I guess that only makes sense.

That depends. The base for most resources would put a C at around 32-33 base Med Use. With the right reosurces and components someone could make it ony 30 use (Pharm III). It is possible to experiment Ease Of use to lower that number even further. Right now using a single advanced component and with 9 experimentation points and assuming I get at least 1 amazing success among the usual great successes I can make a Stim C that has a Med use of 20. At Master Doc with very high quality resources and all advanced components made with great resources and some lucky experimentation, it may even be possible to experiment a C all the way down to Pharm I level. I'll have to give it a try someday.

So the BASE is around 33, usually. But that's not always the case because Stims can be experimented to be made easier to use. Just ask your local medical supplier for details.

Yeah, it all depends on the resources. I don't really think you could possibly get one below, say 15, in reality. Probably 18, really.

i was using a 900+ malliablity metal too..that is a huge factor in ease of use by the looks on the schematics fromt eh look of it...

but either way impossible to get C down to med use 5...

Can anyone list the medicine use requirements for the different Stimpaks? Specifically, does anyone recall the medicine use needed to use Stimpak Cs? Thanks.
