Thread: Advice on how to spend 23 skill points on medic skilltree
I've got 23 points to spare and I am not sure what to spend it on. I had thought of Organic Chemistry 4 and First Aid 3 but...I just don't know what the best thing to do is? All I want to do is to heal myself when no medics/doctors are around. Plus I have found I like to do a bit of healing in the med centre myself as a change now and again.
What do you real medics think, whats the best way I can spend the 23 points? The points does not include the 15 required for Novice medic as I've already got that.
Thx for any info
I wouldn't go that far in Org Chem unless you plan on crafting your own medicines. You also will need some Pharmacolgy to be able to use some medicines as well. I honestly can't remember how far up in medicine use you need to be to use the woundpack-B's but I know you need at least 31 medicine use pts to use stimpak c (Unexperimented, you can actually exp it down to below 30). So, for Stimpak-C, you would need Pharm IV (Unexperimented) or Pharm III (if you have it experimented).
So, I think you can get by with Pharm II if you want to just use B-packs though you will need to check in-game to be certain. This also means you can't get Org IV. But again, perhaps you can forgo Org Chem completely and get FA IV and Pharm III and just buy your meds.
I make my own meds, so organic chem was the first thing i was able to max. If you plan to buy yours, it's not necessary. Both class A and B stim- and medpacks only require 5 med use, which any novice medic has. You don't need pharmacology unless you plan to use like stim-C's which can require over 30 med use. If you don't need either of these, just climb up the first aid and diagnostics trees, first aid affecting how much you heal with each stim, and diagnostics lowering the amount of time between heals (this does not have any effect on medpacks, you have to be a doctor for that to change).

skip chem if you dont plan to master medic...chem 4 or master medic chem will still be far weaker than the packs u can buy from doctors...so save the hassle or resources and crafting and buy
i would say pharm is the most important skill allowing access to higher med packs followed by First Aid making heals more effective
If you don't mind buying your Stims then go Pharm-4 and FA-3. You are WAY better off this way, a Doctor with a factory can build Stim-Ds experimented down to your level that are at least 3-4 times as good as what you can make for yourself. He can sell them to you by the crate and they will last you a long time.
The first option will have you spend a lot of time buying/finding resources and crafting to pop off 300 point heals. The second option will only cost you a little more than the first option's resources, require no credits and let you pop off 800 point heals.
i get up to 1200 heals with CM crafted Stim D without advanced components.
with Doc crafted D's with advanced components you could probably get up to 1500 even with just FA III if there was anything to heal for that much except pets.
i made a batch of basic 40 med use stim Ds 30 charges 555 heal value...
