Thread: Addressing the Mind Pool problem, which is the only thing balancing this profession

If medics could heal the mind pool, then they would have no limit. Currently mind is where medics pay their cost of healing, but if you take that away, they are gods. Now, everyone likes to be a god, which is why there are hundreds of CHs out there with Rancors and alla that, but come on! we medics are better than that!

It is purely a balance issue--the devs know this, because they planned it that way. It will not, and cannot change.

I tend to agree that we shouldn't be able to heal mind damage, but at the same time, the mind pool needs to be more protected than the other two pools for exactly that reason. I'm getting my mind shot out all time, and I also see fighters getting their minds blown out all the time. Simply stated, as the mind pool cannot be healed, it needs to be MUCH harder to damage than the other two pools. Currently, I don't see that. One or two Marksmen, minimally protected, can devastate the mind pool of a group in a VERY short time. I think the devs should increase how much protection helmets give as a way of balancing the fact that mind pool can't be healed. That way, the mind pool is STILL a limiting factor on healing, since it can't be healed quickly, but at the same time it won't be reduced nearly as fast.

Yeah, I also have to agree its fine the way it is. Most of the people complaining are the ones who dont want to change thier tactics or turn a disadvantage into their advantage.

Nah, it doesn't need to be MUCH harder to damage. What if that's the only thing you have as an upper-hand? Are you going to nerf riflemen (who primarily target mind) just because you don't want to increase your mind pool?

I agree,

I've never had a problem with the mind pool so far.
I think the main problem is people in PvP who sit theer and let the riflemen pick them off fromj a distance.

Here's another thought... No one right now is running around with the best suit of armor as it takes much longer to progress up crafting trees then combat trees, typically.

Who knows, maybe helmets will make head damage a sketchy proposition at best, as is hinted to in the manual. However I am in agreement that the Mind pool does need to be more protected then others, and I'm not too fond of the concept of there being three health bars instead of one, but like I said, wait till we start to see some heavy armor. The armor in the game already helps to block ranged damage right now. Three months from now we might not be worried about this at all.

Well I'm not sure if we should be able to heal mind, YET. Today in a group of 7 people we got rushed by a ton of mobs,5 mind incaps was the result. This wasn't rare, this is common. Maybe when better helmets start coming out the whole mind incap thing will happen a lot less, but at the moment it's amighty crippling thing.

Maybe give entertainers a way to make the mind pool shoot up when someone needs it. Or maybe have something like a psyco drug of some kind from medics that heals the mind damage but causes something like 25 wound to thier mind pool.

Though for the moment I'm in the "don't touch anything" camp. Let's wait and see what kind of armors come out and see how well they handle mind damage.

In regard to Mind incaps, if players would balance their pools better, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. . . .(why do half the combat specialists I see have10 cminches of health and action, but only 2 cm of Mind???
