Medic Archive

I had my heart set on becoming a combat medic, thinking I would only need to master maybe one weapon or something. But that was pretty naive and I figured out that I need to master marksman as well as Medic. I'm almost to my 4th round of medic stills, but still am only an advanced pistol user. I don't really look forward to grinding out my marksman profession, so I want to get your opinions on the quickest way to do it. Am I just in for a really long haul or is there a pretty effective way to get it done?

Not sure if I'm understanding your post but it seems like you're under the impression that in order to be a combat medic you need to master both medic and marksman. It's true you are required to become a master medic but I'm pretty sure you only need to go with Ranged Support Specialist on the Marksman skill tree. Hope this helps

Sorry about the ignorance and thanks for correcting me. That was a relief, because somebody in the med center told me i had to master marksman. needless to say that was pretty disheartening. Not so bad now since I have 3 of the 4 ranged support boxes filled. Thanks for your help

Muk is correct, you only need Ranged Support Specialist in addition to Master Medic to qualify for CM. Of course the grind for the combat experience needed for range support is brutal; combat exp is 10% of the weapon exp you get during a fight. However, some time down the road, it seems that we will be getting combat exp for healing party members in combat. This should greatly reduce the grind for comabt exp.
