Thread: I heal for upto 850 dmg with FA IV using stim Bs, how would stim Cs with no FA be better?

Who's telling you to drop FA for Pharm? I agree that FA is very valuable, and if you are taking a limited amount of medic, FA is the line to get easily. As to big heals, i guess the question is how easily you have access to good stim Bs. If you can get good ones easy, stick with them. If not, then it will probably be easier to find good Stim Cs I'd guess just because they tend to be bigger with less work just by thier nature (a good Stim B requires advanced components, but I've had decent stim Cs just by using good materials and basic components).

Also, if you are healing yourself and other players (not pets) then you don't need godly stims anyways.

The only reason to do this is if you had a Doctor that was willing to experiment down Stim Ds and Wound C packs for you (if Wound C can be experimented down to Pharm-4, probably can't).

So say I can get stim Cs I can use, who cares? What is the ADVANTAGE from having pharmacology instead of First Aid? I can use stim Cs, cool. How is that better? Because I can use something that has a C instead of a B, even though it does nothing else? Telling me because I can use stim Cs doesn't help unless you tell me why stim Cs are better, when I can already heal my self fully from stim Bs. I have seen MANY posts on wether someone should get Pharmacology instead of First Aid. Supposedly for bigger heals, even though no one will post what a stim C with no FA heals for.

Edit--- all the places I put C should be D--- end Edit

Thanks

A good doctor can craft a good stim C using regular high quality materials, that in the end, are cheaper than the advanced components used in stim B's and they end up relatively close in stats. Its a cost issue mostly. Stims C's only require 2 extra organic and 2 extra inorganic to make over stim B's and using the same materials end up with more charges and better healing rates. For my own use I always make C's, but I'm not sure, at least my level, that I could experiment down a C for a Novice Medic to use, unless he had some kind of Pharmocology skills.

The other draw back is most med crafters do B's for Novice Medics, you might have to special order some experimented C's, they might not be easy to find on the bazaar. But it depends on the area you are in.

But generally I would say a C ends up being cheaper to make and use than a B, if you've got the med useto use it.

Thank you for the reply. I never knew that about stim Cs. All I know is what the little box shows when I examine it. From what I have seen however all the doctors on my server charge more for stim Cs than Bs. I figure because C is farther down the alphabet than B.

If you have pharm 4 and are using Stim ds with close too 600 heals and around 42 charges each, ou get alot better experiance. When you see a rebel or an imperial come in with a pet with 5500 HAM you cann heal him in 2/3 heals...getting you alot better xp, but im not sure if your just using your stim bs because you want to be able to heal yourself or to gain medical experiance...

I already heal pretty much all my damage with one use of a stim B. It is 321 heal with 32 charges. I have healed myself hundreds of times with the stimpak Bs from the same crate. I have First Aid IV and no other medic skills. Why are so many people saying to get pharmacology instead? I would lose the ability to heal bleeds and would have to spend more money since stim Cs cost more. And how much will a stim C with no First Aid heal for. With just FA IV i heal for 350-850 dmg, at least half the time it is about 600-650 dmg. I would like to know as it pertains to players, pets are of little concern to me, though the information might be useful for others.

you don't get xp for pets anymore

Pharm IV is more important for creature handlers than anyone else. Stim-D's that heal for 1000H and 1000A in one shot are great for healing pet damage. (the less number of heals, the more mind you save) If you're healing a player, then first aid and good stim B's are probably bettern since you'll rarely get to heal for 2000HA on a player unless they have doctor buffs, and you get /firstaid to treat bleeds.
