Allow me to say that I am sincerely grateful to anyone who is kind enough to read my questions and offer advice for a Noob Medic stationed on Tatooine...

I've run out of stimpacks and I don't know what to do next. A couple of in-game characters have said that I need to craft more packs if I'm to continue earning XP's. That's all fine and dandy but I have no idea what would be the best way to gain resources to make them. I've tried using the FORAGE command but rarely do I get results. I've gone past the city gates and I've tried attacking various creatures for resources as well. This is rather time consuming. I understand how the crafting tool works and I'm familiar with the amount of resources that are required to make a basic stimpack but I'm running around in circles and I'm earning more XP as a Marksman!

In the "Adventure Manual" which accompanied the game software it is mentioned in the chapter on Healing that general stimpacks and basic wound treatment supplies can be purchased at Medicine Terminals. Whenever I've asked about these "terminals," I get strange looks from everyone in the hospital.

I've read several posts about "grinding" and mass production of resources. Can someone give me an idea what this is all about?

Again, I am grateful to anyone who is kind enough to assist me. Your time and consideration are most appreciated!!!

Few way to go about it.

1. Just buy resources.

2. (Probably the best way) Train in some artisan, get yourself a few surveying tools, survey around for what ya need. Eventually you'll be able to afford harvesters then you'll be set for life.

3. (The worst way) Just buy more meds.

You're best bet is to train in artisan and start either killing for your own resources or looking on the bazaar (the big red thing in cities) for some stim packs and woundpacks. Being a medic (and leading on to either CM or Doc) is time consuming ... especially when it comes to resources. I would look at the FAQ stickied at the top of this forum for some help. That should get you started.

Don't use the medical forage command, it really is a sad thing, only lets you forage 1 item and it's a random organic from the planet you're on, in order to get enough of the same material you'll have to wait a really LONG time. I would pick up a combat profession and novice scout, kill creature lairs and collect meat/hide/bones and put them up on the bazaar while getting paid for the missions. Sometimes there are certain meats/hides/bones that players want and they'll payBIG money for it. Once you get some credits rolling getting some harvesters and collecting resources will help out a lot.

They could very quickly make medical forage useful if it retrieved 8 of a resource instead of 1, with the limitation that you can't pick which resource (so /sample is still better)... (Or better, 12 for stim B's, if I recall the resource requirements correctly.) Just a random thought.

Train in Artisan and Scout.

Use chemical survey devices to get a fiberplast of some sort. I had a lot of good results with Reptilian Meat so if you could hunt Worts and harvest their meat that would be a good organic to start with.

Medical Forage is sadly broken, and the game manuals are sadly somewhat out of date and lacking a lot of good info. The tradition is for forums like this to have a FAQ stickied at the top of the forum, which there is in this forum too, and I do suggest you read them.

The terminals referred to is the Bazaar,a terminal that has a predominatently red colour and many are located all over cities.

Don't stress about grinding, it's just a term used to mean getting xp as fast as possible in order to progress, rather than playing the game the way it was meant to be played, and is typically done by people redoing the profession after having done it once before, or attemping to unlock their Jedi slot (something that is thankfully to be gone in a few weeks).

best way get scout to harvest meat buy a personal harv for ores run harv a few days an go harvest meat. by the time you get a good stack you should have a full harv then re deed it
an pack it up an grind stims out an repeat as needed
1 or 2 days of the ore harv should hold you to master medic an beside you will have to buy harvs soon or later so good to get a head start.
