Thread: Why is it unwise to drag?

I can't drag group members when they're incapacitated. I am neutral, and the other players in my group are not overt. I get the "it would be unwise to..." message.

Why do I get this message? It is so annoying not being able to drag group members.

Normally it would be a TEF issue. For example, if your groupmates are covert but have recently performed a TEFable action, such as attacking the opposite faction or trading or healing an Overt of TEFed player.

However, Traigus has also mentioned (and it's on our Medic Issues lists), that there appear to occasionally be some forms of NPC TEFs. In other words you might get a Nightsister faction TEF, for example, even though there really should not be such a thing, and as a Neutral you might gets stuck not being able to perform healing actions or dragging.

Being a TEF issue is the only thing that could explain this issue to me, and even still, I'm not sure it's that. Drag has NEVER worked for me, I am a master medic so I do have the skill.

I have been on group hunts where the only thing we attack are creatures, and still I am unable to drag. I'm starting to think the only way to get around this is to join a faction...but I don't want to.

I agree. This has been a long standing problem for quite some time. Recently, one of my group members who is also neutral like myself was incapped by Squills.

Now, if someone tries to tell me there is Squill faction I'm going to be a little miffed....That is no excuse for letting a bug this well known that has been reported countless times by MANY people go for soo long.

You had the one star of doom, so i fixed it for ya. I haven't actually used this skill yet, though i see how it is annoying. The med bug i have is 'you cannot see your target'

It stinks to have to do it but sometimes what I have to do is take a potshot at one of the mobs you are fighting (hit something that is already agroed on something else!).

Even though I don't have the cert I carry a low speed scout blaster just for this. After taking one shot than I can usually drag whatever it was i was trying to drag.

Of course, this also means that you will have the invisible TEF now and may get attacked by something you would not normally be attacked by for a few minutes.

Used the drag then res all the time in the DWB as a Doc/CM. Getting too close to the action could mean instant death not having any elite combate profession mitigation or defense bonuses. I would drag an incapped or dead player out of the middle of a raging melee every 10 minutes or so, patch em up, and send em back in.
