Thread: How best to use remaining 17 skill points

Hi, I will ultimately be a Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer (I know - 2 "unfinished" professions, to put it kindly). Anyway, I was thinking it would be nice to be able to heal myself and others I might be grouped with but I don't know which skill tree(s) I would need to get in order to do this.
I don't care about whether I can craft the stimpaks myself (in fact, I would prefer to just buy them), I just want to be able to use them. Please advise, kind people

I would pick up a skill in Ranged Support and then float the remaining 15 points between Novice Medic (for basic healing) and Novice Artisan (for surveying if needed/wanted).

Well, that's a thought. In fact, on my other Ranger on Tarquinas I did have some Surveying. But which line or lines in Medic would allow me to use stimpacks?

With Novice Medic you will be able to use Stimpack A's and Stimpack B's. You won't need any other skills. You won't be able to use Stimpack C's until you get 0030, which you don't have enough points for.
If you really, really want to buy a box inMedic,then your best options are either 1000 (First Aid) or 0100 (Diagnostics). With 1000, you will get a boost of approximately 15%to your damage heals. With 0100, you will get a very small boost to your healing speed -- buthonestly this speed increase is barely noticeable.

what about 0030 so you can use stim C's..or will stim b's heal better with 4000?

The C's will heal better. It's always best to go with pharmacology, so long as you have enough points to get to pharm 3.

You can special order stim E's from a doctor who can get the med use down to 40 and go 0040 medic. I do that and get 60 uses 1100 heals out of my stims
