Hello community,

1 short question: if I make medicx4xx, i get speed mod for "Injury Treatment Speed", means I can heal faster and often.....BUT, in which way?

a) DO I heal faster and ofter, when I heal OTHER players?
b) or do I get that bonus too when I heal myself?

Thank for any answers,
jit

The speed bump works for when you heal OTHER players, and it only improves the speed of damage heals (stimpacks). You won't notice any speed improvement with your wound healing as a Medic -- that is a Doctor benefit.

Hence the name of the skills, Injury Treatment Speed (Medic)and Wound Treatment Speed (Doctor).

Ah, well, I forgot. I was talking about healing with stims. So it won't affect healing myself, but other?

O well, then I won't waste my point to that and go for medic4040

Yo, it's me again!

I have tested medic0400 and medic0000 and I have to say, there IS a difference!

I have tested it siting in Coronet Starport, and healing myself, even wasting stims!

Result is: I DO heal myself faster with medic0400 than with medic0000, either I am really wrong or I just haven't looked right, but I ensure you, with medic0000 I really was slower healing.

Anyone here can confirm that?

The question he had was does it speed up healing for yourself or only just others.

Response x 2 was only for others.

He responds oh well.

He posts again that he tested it and found the speed does help for himself, not just for others.

"Yes that is correct. This has been known since .. well... early in beta... sorry, nothing new here "

was the next response.

Which is it? Two different answers here.

I think the answer is YES, you get a speed boost when you heal yourself AND others.

When I replied that it only works for others, I must have had it set in my mind from a very, very long time ago that the speed boost only worked for others. I had not realized that they changed it to work for all (self/other) stim heals. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

The answer is very simple. The game does not differentiate between healing yourself and others. All modifiers apply to both.

Well, it does notice a difference, but it doesn't affect the treatment speed.

True,in terms of experience. Otherwise, there is no difference.

Injury Treatment Speed was completely broken a few patches back. Before it was broken, there was a timer which was adjusted according to your Injury Treatment Speed mod; you used a stim, and if you tried to use another stim too soon, a system message would appear saying you had to wait X number of seconds before you could do that again, the same as with Wound Treatment Speed. However, with a recent patch, this was horribly broken, so that now even a Novice Medic can use stims as fast as the healing animation will allow. There is no longer a system message stating that you must wait, and there is no longer a pause between stim use based on your Injury Treatment Speed mod.

I can see why this wasn't important enough for the Devs to even take note of, let alone bother withfixing it in a timely manner. Medics never use stims in combat anyway, they just sit around in a Hospital all day pumping drugs into an AFK tumbler bot, because with the current state of massive Master Doctor stat buffs and high quality Chef foods/drinks, there is *zero* need for Medics to actually go out and heal people in combat.

Keldarin is adding a minimum 3s timer to all heals (probably go in pub 10). It doesn't detract from the current state of the game because, as stated, noone uses stims at the moment anyway. Things are moving faster now in dev land and the CB will see an overhaul of the healing/buffing system which will no doubt include fixing timers.
