Thread: Wow, Queue Delay Fixed?

Hey folks. I was playing on TC last night, and was quite surprised to find that when i threw a HealDamage into the combat queue, there was no pre-delay like there used to be. And I was able to fire off several in a row. The ones that didn't fire because the use timer hadn't ticked over vanished without any delay, and the one that made it past the use-timer fired normally.

Absolutely marvelous!

Now, I was on TC, so things might be different. Can someone confirm that this is working the same way in live?

One of the things that bugs me the most about medic is that since I have no certed weapons, I go around unarmed, and when I get attacked, I go to heal myself, and the delay to perform the action is dictated by my unarmed speed skill mod. Is this what you're talking abut?

Jedi are like ants in an ant farm, you watch them work and play, and if one is being bad, you squish them

No. I mean that there used to be a delay of about 4 seconds before the heal would fire in the queue, and another delay of like 4 seconds after it fired. That often conflicted with the use-timer, so if you mis-timed putting a heal int he queue, it would fire off prematurely and get caught by the use timer.

The pre-delay was removed in TestCentre. I haven't been able to test it in live yet to see if it was a stealth fix they put in place, or if it was just something they're trying out in TC.

Pick up a CDEF rifle/carbine/pistol - every character is certified for that.

I havent tried it in live yet, but Im guessing that is just a fix that will be pushed out with the next small patch, or hotfix, as I do not remember it being listed in any of the latest patch notes, but it of course could be something that they snuck through...Ill have to check it out when i get on at home.

There were a few other stealth changes I've seen in TC, but haven't been able to check in live for one reason or another. I was just curious if this was actually live or not. If it is, it's a great thing. If not, it is definitely something to look forward to if they decide to keep it.

I did a couple of quick tests and they both failed. The first was on Flurry with a 0000 medic. While she was fighting, I fired off two HealDamgages in a row, and the second one went off before the healing timer had expired. The second was on Chilastra with a master medic. The same result happened. Neither character was using any equipment granting more injury treatment speed.

It seems like the fade-out time for HealDamage in the queue is less than the next healing timer. Or, it may have to do with your attack speed. I don't know.

Must have just been TC then. I tested it again this morning, and the pre-heal delay was gone. My toon there is medic 2-2-0-0
