I was hanging out in the Mos Eisley medical center, and a new medic (evidenced by his attire, the presence of the green droid, and his admission of "first day playing") healed my mind. It freaked me out quite frankly. I can provide a screenshot for proof, but I hope you'll just take my word for it. He did it multiple times, and just like normal healing, every time he did it, a system message came up saying 'So and So heals your for 33 mind damage.' I assume he wasn't a combat medic because his mind pool didn't blacken in a manner consistent with the "Heal Mind" ability. I tried to ask him what command he was using, but to no avail. I got the impression that he didn't quite know what he was doing.
Am I going crazy or what? I'm tempted to start a new medic character just to test it out.

only CMs have the ability to heal mind, but there are stims that people can buy or get from missions( only missions i can think of are out of the singing mountain clan temple) that give you stims that heal health, action AND mind. so its possible that they had those, otherwise I have no idea

Yes they can. The player that selects Medic as their starting profession recieves a "Damage Stimpack", which heals mind damage. This damage stimpack cannot be created by a medic, and really we don't need it as mind damage healing is coming back in the CU.

Thanks for the answer. I guess it's good to have, considering how some new medics have to compete with others to get experience.

There is also a quest you can do from an npc in the Bestine med center that the reward is a limited usestimpack A+ schematic, which has mind healing also.
Apparently you can also get loot drops from Nightsisters that are Stim B's with mind healing... pretty rare from what I've heard though.

After I read this I went and did the 3 quick missions to get the A+ schem. The A+schematic Ireceivedheals health and action only, unless there's a different schematic from the other mission-giving NPC in the Bestine med centre? I would think if the A+ was mind-healing, there would be a *lot* more stim-A+'s around...

Being a modified A small stimpack it's efectiveness is pretty reduced. With the existence of mind buffs, chef food (canape, arisa...) and drink (vasarian brandy, blue milk...) or spices (muon gold) there is no real need of this rarity.
Anyway, I wish med/doc could heal "a bit" your mind.

Yeah, I went and got the A+ schematic too. It's a lot better than a stimpack A, but alas no mind healing. I guess that's probably the way it was meant to be.

Interesting... I wonder when that got modified.. In any case, Stim A's are weak, and it's a once of quest reward... 2 reasons why you wouldn't see it much anyway.

Well, it's pretty much a known-to-the-public fact that mind healing is coming back with the CU, thanks to the changes to the HAM bar, which you should be able to find in the In Concept or InDevelopment forum.

Actually, I think you can loot damage packs from gungans (I can vaguely remember looting a damage pack B with almost 300 heal-rating to every stat and about 40 med use from a gungan mission that I tried when bored)...never heard of looting them from NS, but you can get them from the NS themepark as a reward if I remember right.
They do come in very handy when fighting though, and since I don't intend to hold my breath until the CU...
