Thread: Medic bugs?

First, I read in a guide that one way to get Organics up is to heal your action damage while out sampling. This seems to have been working them stopped. I've used 5 stimpacks now with no Med Crafting XP. I went to the clinic and used another 5 packs and still no Medical Crafting XP.


Second, I was in the catina healing dancers action damage and I was getting the "no valid medicine" message when I had plenty of Stimpack A's on me. Also, there were 2 dancers. I would heal dancer A, get "no valid med", target dancer B and it healed them fine. Also... /sigh...I would heal dancer A, switch to dancer B, go back to Dancer A and get the "out of range" message when neither of us had moved.


And lastly...I can't seem to target myself for a heal while engaged by an enemy. I assume i'm just doing something wrong here.

no the medic is extremely buggy...i tried to forage for things (blindly) and it would tell me you can't forage while running and i'd be at a complete stand still...this needs to be revamped NOW!

"no valid medicine" is not a bug, it shows that when you are too far from your target. You can heal yourself by typing /healdamage self, the easiest would be to make a macro and just put it in your tool bar. I would not use the forage skills, they are pretty worthless, you would be much better off picking up survey tools and sampling for your resources.

I have had no problems gettgin crafting (or for medics it is actually Medical Crafting) XP while surveying. That just seems odd, unloess you hit the cieling, which means if you are at novice, for example you make make stimpacks until you have 1000XP, about halfway to Organic Chemistry 2. If you don't train in OC1, you won't go up any more to get cloe to OC2, you will have hit teh XP cieling. Same with any skill.


As for Medforage. That's a problem with a time dealy. You'll see the same problem on the Scout Forage command. You just need to stand in once place for a few seconds before you can use the command. Yes it's annoying, but not overly so. Truthfully, though, whay are you using Med forage anyway? Even in Beta we've been telling the devs that this command is useless because you only pull up one kind of organic resouce at a time, when your minimum medicin requires 8 of teh same kihnd of organic an another 8 Inorganic, which medforage won't get you. Just don't use it. Either buy your resources, have some give them to you for healing them or do like most of us and take artisan to survey.

Organic chemistry goes up by 2 things:


A) Crafting medicine (normal gain rate, i.e. 30 xpby makingstim A)


B) Having other people use medicine you crafted (50% bonus xp, i.e. 15 xpwhen someone else uses yourstim A)

"no valid medicine" means you would be in range if you had ranged stims, but at this point pretty much nobody has any combat medic stuff. It just means you're out of range. Sometimes you get out of sync with the server, when that happens try running around the area pounding your heal hotkey like crazy until it finally works, then hold still when you find a working spot.

Heals don't go until the combat queue is empty, they seem to be added in the combat queue but with no visible icon. If you clear the queue first or peace first, and target yourself to be safe (ctrl-1 by default) then it works most of the time.
