Thread: Improving Medic abilities
So, after being overworked at the Hospital last night, I was wondering which skills speed up woundhealing? I'm working at getting ochem for the medpack creation(though I have a fellow medic who was supplying me). Which skills improve the amount of health recovered or reduce the drain on my mind HAM?
Sorry for a newbieish question. Tired. Up late fixing people who haven't got the hang of cloning yet ![]()

Do I have to go do all that foraging and creating meds crap before I can go to a hospital and heal people? Do I have to do all that crap before I can join a group and go out and heal people?
Assuming one of these days I successfully make a stim pack, will it only heal a person once?
OMG I so very much want to rant here. This has not at all, not at ALL been a fun experience.

No, Pelsmith.
Medics start with the /tendwound and /tenddamage commands. They will heal wounds and damage with no items necessary; although, not a lot.
Also, a stimpack takes 8 organics and 8 inorganics to make, and it has 10 or 11 "charges".
if you look on your skills screen, in the upper left corner select "all professions" on that tab select Doctor. one column is dedicated to wound treatment speed. That's when wound healing becomes faster.
Do yourself a favor so that they don't ruin the game for you. Get out of the hospital, make stim packs and go with hunting groups, the exp is faster, you get cash for group missions, you get to have a lot more fun than sitting in the hospital. When you run low on supplies tell your group you have to go get materials, your group suddenly becomes motivated to help the medic get what he/she needs to continue healing them. If they ditch you to get another medic, well I guess you'll build up a group of people you like hunting with, and those you don't.
I'm sorry to those of you reading this feeling that I'm running off a medic from a hospital when you need your wounds healed. But I see a lot of good people out there trying to be medics, trying to be helpful, getting taken advantage of. If I can offer them an option that will allow them to enjoy the game, your need to have your wounds healed, will have to wait.
