Something we haven't discussed much and can certainly be a time sink for us but I think need to be brought up is Education. I think very few folks outside of our profession have any real idea of what is entailed in the healing process, the amount of resources required and the need for money. I did find that in Beta making sure to take some time to educate the patients in soe of what was involved help to give them a better appreciation of why we needed resources and money.

For the early part of a new server when few folks had credits to pass around man of the scouts would always be happy to onate meat to help out the reource needs. I have found plenty of other folks who are combat artisans who will also take a little extra time to survey up a few extra resources for when they are in the med center once they undersand the resource requirements as well. Or even offer free harvesters once they can make them. There are appreciateive people in the game who are willing to help, but they need to understand how they can help first.

There may be the problem that some of these folks are used to other fantasy-based MMORPGs where a healer simply uses up some kind of Mana or Spell Points that regenerate naturally and tehy may be making the assumption for us as well, since they can clearly see out Mind levels being drained. Most of them don't reallly understand that a complete medic also needs to be a crafter or have the money to buy the resources they need.

At higher levels we won't really be needing those as much, or we will be more selective about exactly what resources we take since the more experienced medics like to ensure they get the most bang for their buck by using quality resources and experimenting them up for greater effectiveness or more charges.

So I would like to suggest that folks here consider taking some time to explain our requirements if they can do so politely, I find that I end up educating many patients simply by explaining how to do things for the class to all of the new medics that are trying to learn the profession. Don't use /tells or /gsay with them. Make the conversation public and maybe you'll find some folks who are more appreciative of the situation by understanding all of the difficulties and expenses involved. Let's help them learn how to help us.
