Medic Archive

i understand you need Food Medicine crafting tool or generic craftinf tool to make them. as a scout i get a lot of organic materials. (i guess non-scouts can 'medical forage'). but i dont know where to get inorganics. even with the forage skill of a medic how do i know where to forage? only artisan can use survey tools.
do i have to be an artisan to be a good medic?
i asked people within the game and they said they didnt know either. one guy i asked said that you pretty much needed artisan surveying to anything well. this cant be true.
can someone tell me the real deal? thanks

that is the beuty of the tool. you do not need to be an artisan to use the mineral survey tool. the benefit of training novice artisan is that the tool becomes more efficient, displaying larger areas. Also you can pull more resources from the ground.
