I have picked up medic as a secondary profession, and have been able to answer most of my questions either through reading the posts on this board or by experimenting in-game.

However, I don't receive XP when using the /tend commands. My target is healed, I see the animation, and no medicine is required. Unfortunately, I don't receive any XP. I checked the skill screen several times to be sure. I used only /tend commands for the first day, until I got enough resources together to starting crafting stimpacks. I've tended in the bush, in camp, and in the cantina, so I don't think it's location based. I accrue XP normally when using the /heal commands.

I've read (most) of the posts here, and the only difference I've seen documented is the tradeoff b/t using medicine or taking a big mind pool hit/wound. Am I experiencing some sort of technical problem that I should report to tech support, or am I missing something else?

Thanks for your assistance.

/tendwound DOES provide XP.

/tenddamage does NOT. It was made that way because it was considered and exploit for a medic to go to the cantina to /tenddamage on teh entertainers thereby taking mindwounds and letting the dancers get Heling XP for healing those wounds, while the medic could grind away at it for their healing XP. Holocron stated that one of their internal testers was able to Master Medic in 10 hours this way. There have actually been a couple of workarounds placed on this, though, such as in Beta an etnertainer could slam out a whole bunch of flourishes at once (that would partially queue up) but the action damage for doing this was intantaneous, so a dancer could concievably knock down theri entire action bar in one shot giving the medic plenty of damage to heal without ever stopping.

Thanks for the explanation. I can definitely see how the original setup could be ruthlessly exploited.
