Hi all,

Would it be possible for the devs to link the future /diagnose command to a pop up window listing wound or damage that needs to be healed? The medic could then either suggest a fee or a rate per wound/damage point. The customer would then get a secure transfer type option to pay the medic's cost (or a decline offer).

If accepted, the medic then automatically uses whatever stim packs and wound kits that have in their inventory.

This solves several hot problems at the moment;

1. you could then see everyone's wounds (it could look kind of like the current character sheet popup).

2. The medics could make their healing a "package product" and let the customer know up front how much that medic wishes to charge for thier work. If it's a type of secure transfer then everyone is happy. The customer is garrenteed the healing they payed for and the medic has the option to set a fiar price to cover costs and make a little profit. Being reliant on tips is a major problem (i feel).

Of course if a particular medic wishes to not charge the don't have to. This also can promote the economy buy having some pricing competition between medics.

Possible popup look;

I'm thinking about a possible look for the popup and what functionality it could have.

For example;

Healing: John Citizen

Health 29

Strength 3

Consitiution 75 (No more Stim packs)

Action 81

Quickness 7

Stamina 29

Options;

( ) Cost per wound healed( $5 )- Total : $1120 to fully heal wounds

( ) Flat fee for healing ($1000)

Hi,

I actually think that there shouldn't be a default option asking for payment. I don't ask for payment for healing. Maybe as an option, sure, but I wouldn't link it to /diagnose default.

As for secure money transfer, just do a trade with the person, and send money. That may be your solution.

I agree with TaivAarzak. I don't require tips for my healing (appreciated, yes. Required, no), so having that option would put a real crimp on the diagnose option for those of us that don't want it. Some people that do require payment before healing might also have different pay scales. Not to mention, more often than not, more than 1 medic is healing a person, so it wouldn't be quite fair.

You called?

Yes, the interface, while nice in theory, presents a couple problems:

1. Healing in combat. So you'd have to make it an optional gesture.

2. Not everyone charges, not everyone should charge.

A workaround is to ask for cash upfront. What your patients will probably do is ask another medic to help them. The best method is just to take people on good faith and remember who doesn't tip. I'm on the Naritus server in Coronet, Corellia, and when I was in the med center full time I made a pretty penny healing folks. If you run a good ship (talk to your patients, when you're hooting out orders to patients remind them to tip, when you're talking to patients of other medics, recommend that they tip them -- that way you don't sound greedy, but you make all patients aware that tips are recommended -- and so on).

I find the best way to earn money as a medic is to roleplay well. People feel guilty not tipping you after you become their friends.

Ack, please nothing that interferes with fast healing during raids. It needs to be optional and separate from /diagnose.
