Thread: Self Healing in Battle, not working

This has probably been brought up before, if it has sorry.

When in a fight with either a lair or multiple enemiesand you select a stimpack to heal yourself, you are not allowed to heal yourself if you happen to kill the targeted enemy before your heal queue comes around. This happened again last night. Walking through Kor Vella on Corellia, got jumped by some minor Swoops. Not a big deal, however when 2 or attacking you melee style and a third from range, you have a few enemies to deal with.

I was getting low on health and used a stim D pack, when the time to heal cycled through on the combat queue (I had nothing else in the queue) I had killed the Swoop I was targeting and therefore had a corpse targeted, I received the message to the effect of cannot heal, target is not a player or creature(pet), sorry cannot remember the exact message. Or if attacking a lair and you need to heal the stim will not fire if I have the lair targeted, I am getting the same message.

I am sure this has happened to others also.

Can we make this work, so that anytime you are not targeting a player or creature(pet) you default to yourself, even a checkbox on the Misc Options to allow us to default ourselves would be helpful.

Thank you for your time,

Create a macro with: /healdamage self

With that you wont need to fumble around untargeting anything. Only down side is you can't specify the stim to use, but I beleive it will use the best category stim you have.

I always just hit ctrl+1 and target self. Then hit my hotkey. The macro is easier tho. Also, you can clear your action queue by clicking the clear button. That way, the next thing u do will be a heal, and not an attack.

Thank you for the responses. I didn't do the macro thing due to assuming it wouldn't use the stimpack. I will try that out. I have one of those set up on my hospital toolbars but not on my attack toolbar just the stimpacks directly from my inventory.

On the target self option, I have tried but it defaults the target back to the enemy target, this in the case of a lair. I will try both ideas though. Thank you again,

I use /healdamage self and I don't have any real problems with it. As far as I can tell, it uses the first stimpack in the list. The only problem, however, is that you *have* to have the stimpack in your inventory; putting your stimpacks in your backpack or something doesn't work. =/

Only place the stimkits you can use in your main inventory window, and put 2-3 of them there as you run out and have time, replace them.

I use two macro, one programmed to the 'h' key with '/clear combat queue;/heal target' so that anywhere I go I can select myself or a target and give a quick heal.

The other having the 'u' key assigned to '/clear combat queue;/heal self' just have to hit that key and an instant heal on myself.

sorry don't remember the example command for the /clear combat queue
