This is a crosspost from the doctor forum, but it belongs here so i figured i'd put it up...

Since the devs seem to be so interested in putting in a "pistol twirl" animation and holstering of pistols for Pistoleers, why don't we (as doctors and as medics) request that there be a proper drag incapped player animation? Sure, now we can see them slowly float across the ground toward us, but i'd personally rathersee my character pick up the target and carry him to safety.

Sure, it would decrease the effective range to 0, and it would take more time to execute than the current drag incap player command. But it would make for a much more immersive experience.

To address concerns about deathblowing, all that need be done is have the character be immune to deathblow once they're in the care of the doctor. This preserves the drag incap command's usage as a prevention against deathblow. In fact, it makes it more reliable as you KNOW that once you get to the body, the mob can't kill them. As it is, the doctor has to run arounddraggingthe incapped playerbehind him until the player's mind can regenerate or the mobs lose interest, whichever happens first.

As for the animation itself, it'd be nice to walk up to the incapped player, kneel, grab hold of an arm and put it around your shoulder, left the player off the ground, and move off with the player's feet dragging. It would put the medic in more danger, however, as it would be possible for the mobs to agro the medic, because the medic would be reduced to a walking speed. That's what being a medic in combat is about, though. Risking your own life in the hopes of saving another.

It's all just icing on the cake, as it were. But if pistoleers can have pistol twirling, why can't we have something like this?

uh no no no dont change drag to have an effective range of zero or make it need an animation that makes it so that u are carrying some guy so u are helpless in combat...thats just asking for a 2 deaths and not 1...

right now drag is really important in pvp to one, prevent DB and two, drag a corpse to rez...changing this will make pvp infinately more difficult.

besides we get animations for using stims and thrwoing stims...maybe change or add more animations for different stims....

if anything, give us cool med gear that is purely for show like doctors clothes, nurses clothes, stethoscopes...

Well, it would still be strategically important. I see the PVP problem now, though. It just bothers me when i see an unconscious body flowing across the ground toward me. I'd much rather pick him up...

You're right. Nurse Uniforms would make *everything* ok. They can stop working on the game entirely once they get the nurse uniform right. When SWG has the Nurse Uniform implemented, and implemented right... at that point, SWG will be complete. XD
