Thread: Show us ya tippies!
List your best tips!
Well I had a great day as a medic yesterday...finally made Novice Doctor, and received 2 of my best tips ever! My first tip was 1000 credits (previous highest was 500) and then 2 minutes later I got one for 2000 credits!
That was mine, Show us yours! ![]()
I started keeping a "good tippers list" the other day after a shift in the Coronet hospital. Anyone who tipped 500+ and/or items went on it. That way I remember my good customers and make sure to say hi if they come back. It's just good customer relations. ![]()
Anyway, the best tip I've gotten so far was for 5000, yesterday afternoon. I just about fell over. ![]()
Like you said Dawe, there's better money to be made doing missions, but I enjoy healing people even if I don't get tips. If I need money I head over to Anchorhead for a couple hours and help the rebel cause.
They are spending their time to heal me. XP or not it's got to be boring sitting on the floor healing people. And they have to buy materials at some point.
So I started dabbling in Medic and I'm up to First Aid III & Organic Chemistry III now (I was looking for between fight heals while soloing, and for minor heals on my pet) and I'm spending a lot of time in the Medical Center lately, healing wounds up.
I'm lucky to get a 200 cr tip. Now I understand why everyone was so friendly when I came in, and would even stop healing people they were with just to heal me. I tipped, and paid them for their time in there.
Since then my girlfriend and I have a new tactic. I started playing a Slitherhorn, pushing all 8 flourishes every 4 seconds (/pause 0.5 works), and she would just heal me with a horde of Stimpack As. I set the delay on her /healDamage macro to 20 seconds, which was more than enough for her to recycle her mind, and enough for me to drain at least 100 action from my pool. The XP for a damage heal appears to be Heal/4, so she's getting 25xp every 20 seconds or so, and a lot of Chemistry XP for crafting the packs. She just hit FA4 & OG3, I'm just missing FA4 now, and grinding that out as I type. We're going to watch Episode I now and just watch the screen periodically to make sure I haven't run out of stims.
I've found the higher up the doctor tree I get, the bigger tips I get. I'm now max'd out on med xp so I spend less time in the Medical Center (working on combat xp for Combat Medic). If I'm able to make high quality meds I've been able to heal people with almost no HAM in 3 or 4 heals. That's when I get the 10k tips. I can easily make 15k in tips in 90 minutes. Some days I get tip'd by people I've healed on previous trips to the Med Center. In Cornet there tend to be more medics than patients these days so Itry to let the newbies get some xp and just heal those with major damage.
i once was tipped 500cr from a musician! i was sitting in the tavern healin the dancers and stuff for xp for like hour and one of them tipped me!
but then again the person was also a master tailor so i guess money wasnt really an issue.
Do beta stories count? ![]()
In beta when they introduced cloning wounds, the original wound penalty was 2/3 of your HAM turning black per death. Plus you got similar-sized wounds to Strength, Quickness, Stamina and Constitution so there was even more to heal. To make matters worse, there were only about five high-level doctors on the whole beta serverbecause previously nobody ever got enough wounds to need one.
So I walked into Tyrena medical centre and it was full of half-dead people with more wounds than I had ever seen. I got out my Medpack Cs and it wasn't long until I was nearly Master Doctor and all my packs were used (and I was exhausted in RL). And the hospital was still full.
I decided to leave, but one of the best-known Master Architects stopped me. He offered me 50k credits to heal his 2/3 cloning wounds and sat down to be healed. His jaw hit the floor when I refused
A friend had just transferred me 600k credits as a gift, so I had no need of any more cashand I needed sleep!
