So am I to understand that I'll need to get harvesters to really accomplish anything ? I really don't have enough money for harvesters and stuff

Hi Bounty1989.

You can buy stuff off the Bazaar instead of getting harvesters, but it will cost you some credits. On my server 500 water costs about 2000 credits. Fiberplst (Inorganic) and Hides, Bone, Meat (Organic) cost a bit less, around 3 credits per unit.

In the long run it is cheaper for you to get your own harvesters, but if you dont feel like putting in the time or effort into that, you can still buy what you need.

Does anyone have any advice for getting all the resources for stim B's? I'm talking about the organic/inorganic + water + metal. Should I buy it off of the bazaar or is there a certain profession that stockpiles them? By the way, what's the general going rate per unit of all those materials?

buy organics from a friend and all the rest u get from harvesters, if u get 4000+- resources from a harvesters where u pay about 1500credits for (maintenance plus wind harvester) and u'd normally pay 20k because they charge 5cr/resource then its worth it yes.....

btw I have 2 harvs running of every res type, soon ill be switching over to meds because the cost/effectivity is lower, maybe get yourself another medic to share resources with and do the same, itll be cheaper for the both of you

Running harvesters is expensive if you can't run missions or craft artisan stuff, but if you save up your money, a week of harvestors running will give you tens of thousands of resources, enough to last you months.

If you want to start slow, either plant a wind harvester on a very good wind spot, or a mineral harvestor on a very good radioactive spot. Collect enough power to sustain you later, you can sell the excess for cash.

If you want to be safe, have enough power to last a week (about 4.2k) and enough cash to last a week (5k). Watch for when a really good resource appears, and then buy a harvestor. If you plant on a good spot, you will have enough material to craft a heck of a lot of meds.

Set up four harvestors: wind (energy), wheat (organic), water, fiberplast!

Then you'll be far better off than buying the resources from the bazaar. In a couple of days you'll have enough resources to craft your way up to Stimpack Chemist with no problem, and it'll be cheaper!

Putting up harvestors is real easy. Just try to find good resource spots (60+%) within running distance from a city.

Another advice would be to get a droid equipped with a Flora crafting module and a medical module. That way you can always craft whenever you have downtime (resting, waiting for flight, etc). You can also always tend people's wounds everywhere at any time.

Yeah I finally broke down and bought a few harvestors for 1k each.

Planted them where I saw a bunch of others of the same type and went to town. Only been two days and I already over 10k resources collected with power to spare from the one wind generator.

Will take them down soon and just bank them until I get low and want to make more. I may even run to some of the specific resource planets to collect resources for advanced meds.

Most generic resources go from 3-4 credits a piece on the bazaar, adv component resources usually go for much higher, 5-10 and up probably. Harvesters are really nice to have and if you set one up to mine something to sell (ore is a good one) then you can help pay for them that way. I think I had one mineral and one floral and one wind as a novice medic and I just hand sampled water and chemicals while I crafted. Now I have a bunch of harvesters

yes at first glance it may seem cheaper to set up your own harvesters and harvest the resources you need but this may not always be true. You will first need to have surveying skill, run around and find a good spot for the resources you need then pay maintence and power costs. Also this is ok for harvesting on your home planet if not you have to add in travel costs and time especially for the advance components on all the different planets.

All this time you could of been getting other skills and doing missions for credits. So maybe the cost isnt what it appears at first glance. It really is up to you and what you wish to be doing with your time. Best thing is to harvest a resource or two and then find other doctors doing the same on different resources and trade stuff you have with them for stuff you need. Also if you know someone who has a vendor or you have one yourself maybe get together with them and other doctors and start a shop that supplies all the good med resources in one place. That would be the best bet. It is easier to get alot of 1 resource then it is a little of 10. So hook up with other doctors and see what you all can do together.

That is what I am hoping to do,

I put mine in places where I run missions. When I go check on them, I take 2 mission in the directions of my harvestors. That way I make enough money to pay for maintenance each time I go to them.

I have one off planet on Talus to collect water vapor, but I put enough in that to last a few days, plus I like to go to Talus to run missions and look for pets to tame.

Try to kill two to three birds with one stone so to speak.
