Thread: Medicine Use and other questions for you brainy medic types
I am trying to get a good feel for how much pharm to get. Pharm grants medicine use (MU). Looks like
Novice medic: MU=5
Pharm 1: MU= 10
Pharm 2: MU= 20
Pharm 3: MU= 30
Pharm 4: MU= 40
Where do the various woundpacks come in for MU? Also what is the max theoretical stimpack that can be used at Pharm 4? Stim D?
Also looks like 1st Aid gives injury treatment (IT) with
Novice medic: IT= 5
FA1: IT= 20
FA2: IT= 35
FA3: IT= 50
FA4: IT= 75
Is this the percentage bonus you get to healing? IE if you had FA2 with a 100 max stimpack, would you heal 1.35*100 = 135 max?
With Medicine use, its a bit funny, since it makes a huge leap from 5 to 40 with Stim B and Stim C, so yes, with Pharm 4 you can use Stim A,B,C & D. Phar 3 can also use Stim C, but experimented on to reduce medical use below 30.
As far as injury treatment is concerned, each level gives you a percentage bonus, so at FA 4 you get a max bonus of 75%. Not sure exactly how it works, but its a bit screwy at the moment.
If your looking for the best over the "Do I get more FA and use Stim B or more Pharm & use Stim C" debate, I would go for the Stim C.

Which would let you stim back pretty much your health and action in big chunks, and grant first aid for when you get hit with a bleed. I was sort of curious as to what sort of max heal i could expect for (pharm 4 + FA2) vs. (FA2)...since that is 14 skill points less in medic. Seems like what I have seen the best stim B is around 400 max with say another 100 or so from FA2 would mean a heal of 500. If you went pharm 4, I have heard stim C's up around 700 or so, so with FA2 I would guess around 900 per pack, equals full bar replenish...seems to gel with what I had heard. I don't know how realistic these are, and how available stim C's are, but I see alot of stim B's out there (perhaps they are the marketed grinding afterproducts for stimpack chemists).
