Thread: Failure at low % risk

Hi all.

I've been sitting by my crafting station making Stim-C. I am a fearly good medic as the risk in percent during experimentation is 4%.

To me, that means that 4 times out of a 100 I would fail, giving me a 96% chance of atleast success.

Thats not so. I was making a Biological Effect Controller and was trying to increase the chanrges. with the materials I use it starts at 15%, placing one experimentation point I increase the risk to 4%, having 5 points to play with, I get failure 2 times and success or great success 3 times. ending up at 16% total.

This can't be right. most of the times I should get success, with the occasional failure, but not 2 times on the same item.

Anyone else experience situations like this?

Yup, all the time. On most of my components I have 0% or 1% chance of failure, but I definitely fail more than 1% of the time. The percentage does affect how often you fail, but 1% does not mean 1/100 that is for sure.

Since the first patch after release, experimenting has been buggy for me. Failing often with a sub-10% change of failing. Suceeding 3 times in a row and the stats don't change. Now, I'm having trouble getting more than 270 damage out of a stim c. The whole system seems completely bugged.

My biggest problem has been the crit failures. I'm Master Medic and I constantly hit crit fails on stim pack A's and B's.

Another issue I have is I will run an experiment and have a good success, however one of the stats on the item I'm craftign will drop to 0 while the other will not move... this doesn't sound like a success to me

Im have master doc crafting and i fail on components...

i dont think the % really effects crit failure. I no longer have moderate or bad failures, i only have crit failures now..

I think crit failures are different from normal failures...

heal value is just the power of the pack...it doesnt mean it will heal for that much...its modified by your skill...

my Es heal for 2000-3000 and they have a heal value of 900 or so...

I think this is a known bug, it should be since I have bugged it several times Often, if not always, if you experiment on 2 different attributes at the same time, sucess will result in at least one if not both of the attributes lowering. I always experiment in one attribute at a time now as the workaround until they fix this.

Good to know it is not just happening to me. It's bad that it happens to so many as it most likely is a bug.

When i get failure or success, there is no change in the % niether good or bad. A success, even a minute one would improve the experimentation area, and the same with a failure, it should lower it.

As for crit failures I do get them alot as well. I do most of my work by a station and crit fail 3 times in a row isn't all that funny.

As for the Stim-C I can maybe get the value on the heal up to 260-270, but they will heal for so much more.

I once had a stim-C heal for 700 points. I am not sure what those numbers mean on the stims, if that is a base heal and your healskills plays a part in adding up the max heal you can do with them.
