Thread: Question from someone new to medcal crafting
Hello all!
I've never crafted a thing in my life, let alone meds. I was thinking about working my way up to 2-0-0-2 to use Stim Bs and Wound Packs with a decent bonus, heal bleeding, and to be able to craft my own Stim Bs to save some cash. Now my questions:
1. Does this seem like a good idea? Right now I am running 4-0-0-0 in Medic, and am getting great heals of my Bs, but it's getting expensive. I was hoping crafting my own would help this, but not if what I can craft at 2-0-0-2 is going to be junk. Will it be junk?
2. I can make Stim As now. They suck, and I expect that. But how do I 'experiment'? As I said, I don't craft, so I have no clue what 'experimenting' is, or even how to attempt it. Anyone care to explain?
3. Finally, any advice on how I should spend my points? 4-0-0-0 seems to be working out pretty well for me, but I'd LOVE to be able to craft my own good Stim Bs.
Thanks a lot everyone in advance, I appreciate any and all help.

Honestly? yeah, they probably will suck compared to what you have been buying off the bazzar. Most of the best stims (300+ heal) are made from fully experimented advanced components by Master Medics and above. Unless your willing to spend just as much money buying the expensive, often hard to find resources for advanced comps, your stims will not be anywhere near as powerfull as what you can find on the bazzar. Its your choice really. Pay for the resources (including the extra time wasted finding what you need) or pay some one else for a well made product.
You can do it if you want, but your results probably wont impress.

In order to experiment, you need to be next to a food and chemical crafting station. These can be found throughout cities and in peoples houses. Just stand next to one, and you will be prompted to experiment during the normal crafting process.

Unless you really intend to dedicate a lot of time and money into gathering resources, the StimB's on the bazzar (the 300+ ones at least) will be far better than what you will be able to do yourself. I would have to reccomend you stay at(4-0-0-0)

Another option, if you have the points to spare, would be 2-0-3-0. This would allow you to stop bleeding (FA2) and use stim C's that have been experimented down to 30 med use. Doctors can make these C's 500+ and that will give you a better heal on average than 350ish B's (even with FA4). If you go with 2-0-4-0 or 0-0-4-0 then you can use stim D's that have been experimented down to 40 med use - these really give an impressive heal. I would check around to see if these are readily available on your server tho. It also depends on what your other skills are - ranged weapon users don't normally need better than good B's. As a melee character though it really helps to use C's or D's when you are getting pounded on.
I agree with the previous poster regarding crafting. I wasn't able to make half decent meds until Novice Doctor. For the really good ones you need to go all the way in the Doc crafting line - this will allow you to make decent meds even when the advanced resources aren't very good that shift.
