Ok so i started my medic, the basic stuff i understand but .. to craft i need ressource. I can buy them off the bazaar but they are waaaaaaaaaaaay over priced. I'm scout aswell so i can get some inorganics stuff but in very few quantities .. So i've heard you can have harversters to get a reasonable amount of ressource to fill your crafting needs.

So if someone kind enough could help me out, and explain me how it works ? I guess i'll have to be novice artisan at least to put some harversters (btw to who i have to build such things ?).

Also i need a survey tool to find ressource yes ?

what are the price of harversters ? I'll need 2 different of these, one for inorganic and the other one for organic ?

I got some other question but i'll ask later

Will try to answer as much as I can.

You got it right. To craft meds, you need resources. Some are harvested from animals (scout), some need to be harvested from the world (basically the artisan's job).

You do not need to be an artisan to place a harvester, however you need basic surveying skills (Novice Artisan) to actually find the resources and hence a location of where to set up your harvester. With surveying you can also 'sample' resources. I.e. pulling small amounts of resources out of the ground over time. If you just need 100 units of something, that is often feasible but especially later on, you will want huge amounts of the same resource and set up a harvester that will do the work for you.

Basically the procedure is: 1) Find out what you need (e.g. Berries) 2) Get out your flora survey tool and activate it. In the list it presents you, select Berries and survey. Either you will find Berries nearby or not. If not, move to another location on the planet and try again but let's assume you found a 60% concentration of berries nearby. So now you sample those berries to see of what quality they are. If they are good enough for what you want, you could find the best concentration nearby and (if it's not a no-build-zone) set up a flora harvester there. If the qualities are not satisfying you can either wait a couple days for new berries to shift in or move to another planet and look for better berries there.

Setting up a harvester itself is easy. You just use the harvester's deed from your inventory and get to an interface where you select the location. A couple seconds later the harvester will be up and waiting for a) credits to pay for maintanance b) power (which you harvest with a powerplant or buy from the bazaar) and c) orders. Meaning you have to tell it what to harvest. You would select the berries in my example.

There are different kinds and sizes of harvesters. Medium and heavy harvesters will harvest faster than personal ones but also cost more maintanance/power and building lots along with being a lot more expensive to make and buy. As for types, there are harvesters for minerals, chemicals, organics, water, wind energy, solar energy and gas. In our example with the berries you would want a flora farm (either personal, medium or heavy). Harvesters are made by artisans and architects, depending on size and type. Personal ones you can expect to buy for less than 1000 credits, bigger ones can go up to 100k or more I believe. Will depend on your server.

And lastly there are the dreaded resource shifts. Every once in a while, a given resource will vanish and be replaced by a new one. In our example perhaps you would have found Berries called 'Xantji' with an overall quality of 980 and a potential energy of 356 near Theed on Naboo. A couple of days later those berries will be gone and new berries will 'shift in'. They will still be Naboo berries but they might not be in the same location and they will have a different name anddifferent qualities, making them unstackable with your Xantji berries.

Something else that I found confusing at first is that eventually you will get schematics of items that seem to serve no use at first (like the 'Biological Effect Controller'). Those are not stand-alone items but rather subcomponents of more advanced meds. For example for a Stimpack B you will need some organic, some inorganic along with a biological effect controller and 2 other components as opposed to the Stimpack As that only require organics and inorganics.

Hope that helps getting you started and good luck in your career
