Thread: The problem of not tipping medics
i know mostmedics dont care if people tip them in medcentre's because they want xp but the problem is that sooner or later the medcenter's are empty. once you master doctor/CM you not going to medcentre's anymore, why should u ??
yes to heal friends and people you see in the medcenter while healing friendsbut for no other reason.
medcenter are there only for medics to get xp nothing else.
i have seen it happen on my old server(am on the europe on now)in the begining it was full of medics fighting to heal me or someone but now its totally empty.
and its totally understandable almost noone tips and medics are being forced to do stuff (which they like or not)to make money.
isnt this totally wrong shouldnt the medcenter always be filled with medics or atleast some?
same for entertainers btw ,the cantina's are getting emptier and emptier
Commissions brotha...if your a descent medic look for huge hunting parties that are hunting big game..they are always looking for medics to take hunting with them. hire yourself out. heh if your really smart get doctor and revive so you can bring people back to life my friends and i pay docs very generous amounts of money to go krayt hunting with us. get creative.
This is one reason why I think Medic Missions need to be added to the game. Every other starting profession has a mission terminal, but not medics. I get tired of getting cussed at for charging for healing (Meds aren't cheap), even though I don't need the xps anymore. I'm a Master Doctor/Combat Medicand I rarely get asked for groups because I can't lay out damage as fast as others, so groups aren't worth it sometimes. Groups just want my buffs and they're off without me. Even as a Master Doctor I still go back to the Med Centers daily, mainly to train medics, offer advice or sell buffs, but not to heal.

Well, I usually spend an hour or so in a random Med Centre, and expect to continue to do so well after Master Doc.
Am I the only person that actually wants to help injured people? Fuzzy warm glow is enough for me.
poor wounded slob running out of the Cloning Center.. I thought
"Crap, I bet he's going to Medical" and sure enough, he did. I
turned around, followed him in and patched him up: /smile; /say You
look like you need some help!.
After healing him up he tipped me 5k. I get tipped regularly but
that much in one shot is unusual. I inquired and he replied "Because
you bothered".
Through all the Medic I've done (3 characters now) I've never really
been hurting for money except as Novice Medic 0000 where everything
seems expensive. I have found that for tips it helps immensely to have
a good bedside manner:
a. be friendly and chatty - gets the patients attention,
b. be quirky and /emotive - most characters are flat and lifeless (see a),
c. act like you care - remember your Medical uptime is their downtime, and,
d. be cute and female (chuckle).
Oddly enough I have found that players respond to your roleplay, even
if they do not themselves roleplay. One character likes to craft while
healing: "This one's a bit smoky but I'm sure it will work just fine..".
Another character has a reputation as a tough cookie who will take
one on the nose while trying to prevent a DB, blasting away with her
scoutblaster. I think a consistent, unique personality helps your
character stand out from the ranks of the of silent hologrinding Novice
Medics (when they're not grinding /tumbleToStand).

Medic Mission terminals would rock, I think. Kinda make them like the "explorer" missions on the general terminal, but instead you have to heal "X" amount of damage on someone else to get the mission.
Or you have to X amounts of Y types of wounds, or heal X different people.
