Ever sence I started playing i'v always wondered how much should I tip or if i dont tip what I should give them for services rendered. I usualy tip 100cr to 1000cr to medics depending on my wounds and about the same to entertainers. If there is no cash avalable I will give them about 200 units of achemical or some random bits for floral Iv bought off the bazaar for cooking.

Lets say i have the following wounds:

  • Health: 250

  • Strength: 143

  • Consitution: 156

  • Action: 237

  • Stamina: 138

  • ??? 176

is about 1000cr to much, not enough or just right?

It really depends on the medic level, the quality of the healing supplies they're using, and personally, the attitude of the Medic. My second character is a Master Doc, so I've had some practice. A good rule of thumb is to assume that the best "Medic" character out there will not be able to heal much over 50-100 wounds in a single shot.

So they'll need 12 or more applications of 6 different meds to get you patched up. Now that's a lot of mind usage and downtime for them to do that healing. With that much, they may be there 5-10 minutes, depending on regen stats. You also have to factor in supplies, and resources. At 3-15 credits a unit for quality resources, medics pay quite a premium.

There is no blanket number, but for that amount of wounds, I'd say 1k is on the low side. However, you should probably just ask the medic how much they pay in resources, and hope they weren't disollusioned with the whole process (like me) and will heal publicly. A lot of Medics and Docs have gotten burned by people not tipping or paying for heals, and will not be inclined to heal people. Those resources cost money, and the higher quality meds require more resources and resources of much higher quality.

Back yet again, for another round of SWG... um... fun. Yeah, that's it. (It's not just a diversion while I wait in the queues for WoW BG's)

My self a Novice Doctor I never expect a tip, they are nice though. Something nice I have had happen is that after healing someone I get the message (name) wants to trade with you and I have had people tip me in resources and some times this can be better than money. So I say its not the amount its the thought.

I dont know if I agree with that. We always complain that we dont get tipped enough... so if someone comes here and asks how much they should tip, who are we to say "Its the thought that counts". Its not the thought, Give me my money

OK, Im half joking... but my answer would be 100k at a minimum. OK, Im still joking. 1k would be a resonable minimum tip for such an ammount, max would be 5k(though you can always feel free to tip more). but I think we all agree that we are not trying to put people out of a job either. So, Tip what you can. If you can tip more, we need it, If you can only tip less, we appreciate it. If you cant tip at all... we will get bye we always have, as long as your trying.

I agree with both of you really. I never expect tips, because many people don't. However, that being said, if two people had the same wounds described, and one tipped 200 credits, and the other tipped 1000 credits, I would thank them both the same. It is the thought that counts to a certain extent. I have had people drop 50k tips on me for not much healing. It depends on that players circumstances. Perhaps they are a poor noob. Perhaps they are a multimillionaire. No way to tell, so treat them all courteously.

Best way i would put it is.....

Think of it as a mission. You the healee are our mission terminal. If you are a really wounded person (like the stat's you presented)its like running a level20 mission and the "tip" or compensation should be around what you would expect for running such a mission. If you are just a bit ding'd up that is about a level 5 mission in which case 500 isn't unreasonable.

Don't get me wrong. Any tip is a good tip. Be it money or goods.

Hope this helps you in seeing it a different way.
