is it possible to still heal myself with stimpacks if I drop Novice Medic and just wear BE medical clothes instead?

Or is it a pre-req to have novice medic for stimpacks to work, even though I may get the points from clothing?

The only way to use a Medical Stim is if you have the /heal ability which is only granted at Novice Medic.
