Good on ya gnipper: My story is very similar up to the "you must master Combat Medic". After being out of the game for 2 months I came back and my Holo said, "Teras-Kasi-Artist". I had no brawler experience but I had been going up the Pistoleer tree's.

Long story short. I realized being a hand to hand combatant that I needed to be able to heal myself. So, I surrendered the last of my CH points and took up Medic.

So far I'm 1-1-1-3. I'm not sure if these are good first choices for this profession.

I do want to master this profession and maybe even Doctor.

Questions:

What tree's in Medic should I get first?

Should I make a bunch of stimpacks and join a group, or hang out in AH cantina?

I realize that grouping would be way more fun, but I can never seem to find many groups.

Like I said I've been out of the game for awhile and I don't belong to a PA yet.

I have Master Scout so I can harvest resources that way. But should I get a Harvestor?

How do I use a harvester? Do I just buy one, put it on a lot and click ok?

I made it up the Unarmed Brawler tree but now I see I need 125,000 pts just for novice TK.

I will need mucho medic experince first I think.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated/

Thanks.

What tree's in Medic should I get first? Probably Diagnostics. It will allow you to heal faster. After that It's a toss up. Pharmacology will let you use more powerfull stims, while First Aid will let you take care of bleeds and heal more damage.

Should I make a bunch of stimpacks and join a group, or hang out in AH cantina? Get in a combat group if ya can, if not, then find a busy cantina.

I have Master Scout so I can harvest resources that way. But should I get a Harvestor? YES! Unless you are one of those rich combat types and can afford to buy pre-made stims or resources off the vendors.

You can use a couple of stratagies here. There are some members in my PA that have put down some harvesters permanently and given us admin privs. We just happen to pull what is under them at the time. This seems to work out ok for getting a modest amount of resources.

Another strategy is to take your harvester and place it where you see others of the same type and see what they are mining. You just have to hope they aren't mining one of those off the wall resources like wood or an inorganic that doesn't need a high overall quality.

The last strategy is to take some survey skill or hire a surveyor to find you a high concentration point to place your harvester.

Most servers have a webpage where artisans and medics post some stats on corrent resources. If not, try looking at SWGcraft.com

Hi all,

So, I got my Chrimbo prezzie holocron and thought GREAT, now ill be on the path to the jedi I always wanted to be! I had NEARLY mastered brawler & scout, i had made a start in marksman and had begun the creature handling tree (but only to 1-0-1-1 i think). I hoped and prayed my holo would tell me to master CH or some combat related skill as this was my favourite area of the game......

CTRL-I....dbl click holocron...

"Master Combat Medic".

Oh MY GOD methinks. I have never really dabbled in the medic side of the game and i was gutted. so much so that i didnt play for about 2 or 3 weeks (which for me is a long time). The thought of starting an entirely new tree (and one which i presumed was boring) really disheartenend me.

So i casually logged on last week and made a start... bored sitting in cantina's healing entertainers thinking, this is going to be such a grind..

.... lets try some "group" combat healing - after all, i will be a combat medic and i guess this is where my speciality should be.

I LOVED IT, keeping an eye on my comrads, healing them when they needed it, reviving incapped buddies - i was in my element, i dont know what it is about the medic/combat medic thing but I AM LOVING IT and cant wait for my next group hunt :-)

I guess the moral of my story is this - dont grind the medic professions if you get them on your holo like i was considering... PLAY THEM.. its such a rewarding experience to play a medic - you are truely appreciated in the group and you really feel like someone special!

Long live SWG!

P.s. if anyone can sell my a nice medic type uniform email me (Trak Dotwic on Chimaera) ;-)

Congrats. My first Holo said Master Bounty Hunter, which took forever. When I attained Master I looked around, shouted "Woo Hoo" and then dropped it altogether (probably the shortest tenure in BH history - :30 seconds) .

My second Holo said Master Doctor......I can't wait to start leveling.

You have another convert here, I have been a TKA for some time but I could never decide on what profession to complement it. I tried CH and pistoleer but I felt they weren't really needed. I also picked up novice medic a while ago to treat wounds in camp, I also did a lot of drive by heals and healing entertainers.

Then it finally clicked, this is what I want to do! I already have a few boxes in medic just from random heals, time to get crafting now.

I had the very same thing happen to me. My first holocron told me to go combat medic. "Ug", I thought as I too had never even attempted medic before. I've never been one for a support-type role. I grinded my way to master combat medic and have since dropped it, but medic I can't seem to live without now. I can solo reds and help my group mates. I love the drag incapped player and then heal. It's kind of a reel 'em and heal 'em move.

I'm currently trying to figure out how I can keep at least some of my medic skills.

My Holocron said the same thing Gnipper, Master Combat Medic. I have never had any medic skills, but after starting it, i already like it. I'm looking at it the same way you are, don't grind it, play it. It will be alot more fun that way, and before you know it we will be Master Combat Medics! I think it's going to be a nice change of pace. Good luck to ya.

Thanks to Chimera!!! I did not want to do medic at all, but my friends playing really wanted me to. Well last night in about 3 hours I went from 0/0/0/0 to 4/4/4/0 and it was fun, just sat around chatting and getting to know some guild memebers.

I still have to craft, but I've been getting help from other guild memebers, they make it alot easier.

I have to admit...after blazing through Brawler and Tailor, I was told to Master Doctor...I thought "crap...an elite grind, lovely" but went about putting my newfound master tailor skills to use making myself some medical outfits (clothes make the man ya know) and then trained Medic.

Now I'm at 3/3/3/3 of medic and absolutly having a blast. I'm not grinding, I'm meeting people and helping them. I must say I wonder at this point if I will even crack open that other holocron...I've resigned myself to the fact that I will use my Master CH abilities to command some enforcers to compensate for my now long gone BH pistol skills...

So anyway, my point being...people that hate hologrinders, back off...they can be a good way to get someone interested in another profession they might never have tried otherwise.

One thing I've noticed, people do not tip NEARLY as often or as much as I ALWAYS made a point to do...(good thing I'm already rich).
