Ok, lets start thinking about what our next question to Thunderheart is going to be. Unfortunately all the E3 stuff has delayed the onset of the next 19 questions by a week or so, so the answer to our next question will be delayed somewhat.


The question: Version 1


Medics are interested in seeing a share of Faction Points in the same way that we are getting Combat XP. It is considered inappropriate that a medic professional would be out in the field and, being unable to assist in taking out an opposing faction NPC or player (because they are healing those who are doing so), they will not gain FPs and so will progress much more slowly in faction gains, while providing at least as valuable a service as the person providing the offensive capabilities. Other considerations have included gaining FPs for healing Overt faction members, especially considering the dangers involved in gaining a TEF in this manner in a place that is known for finding unsuspecting TEFed characters i.e. The Med Center.


Are the devs considering giving medics and their bretheren (doctors and combat medics) faction points for healing? If so, are we likely to see it any time soon? If not, will they consider it?

When will they fix theissue that makes it impossible to heal/cure someone who is 4m away from you just because they are running?

Tumbling exploit will be fixed with the Combat Balance publish.


I think the 4m running heal is due to lag, the client hasn't been updated yet thatthey've run an extra 4m. I see this all the time when I have 2 accounts running on 2 machines in the same spot. You run with one, watch the other and it takes at least 2 or 3 secondsto start running on the other machine. I'm on 512k ADSL here too.


Medic's primary job is toheal people who are standing/sitting still. If you really want to heal people in combat you should become a combat medic!

It's not an excuse, being able to heal peoplemoving around in combat is not what a medic or doctor is about. If you want to cure poison on a player in combat, yes they should stand still. Why do you feel you deserve the ability to heal people while they'reengaged in combatwhen you're playing a medic or a doctor when we have a profession specifically for that?


If you're having a problem with ranged and area healing, that's another story worthy of the combat medic forum. It's certainly something I will look into, but as far as I am aware nothing has changed. If it you still feel it has, please make a seperate post and I'll start looking into it further.

I have a problem with mind heal, not area or ranged heals (evenif I assume that there is the same problem, just it's not that obvious with higher range)but it's exactly the same issue you get with doctor and medic... ButI'm sorry, but there is no reason why all medics should not be able to heal someone who is at 4 meters, whether they are moving or not. The range of our heal is 6 meters, period. Nowhere is it shown that it only applies to people who are standing still and/or are not in combat. As such, we should be able to heal someone who is running 4 meters ahead of us, and that has nothing to do with trying to act like a CM, there is a big difference between a 6 and 40 meters healing range. Not being able to heal someone who is 4m away is certainly a medic issue. Isn't healing our main role?


Also,as a reminder, this issue used to be in the list of issues to be voted on made by Traigus, and was also in the doctor list... so this has been in game forever, nowhere have I mentionned that it was a new bug.

I asked you to start a new thread on this topic. I will be asking some TC members to help test this out shortly, but I need to see that more people have the issue before I can responsibly consider it for the top 19 question.

Well, my question would likely be What about our Top 5?


Since we got 2 of the Top 5-based questions responded to, I think I'd vote for going on to the number 3 Issue and framing a question based on that.

I'd actually say we have 3 answered seeing heals go into the queue (Top 5 #4)on TC now... but I like your choice there Zarlor, faction points for healers has been a concern since I started playing the game.


I've currently got some people testing the heal range on TC also, but due to the current increase in bugs it's a hard thing to test.
