If you are new to the medic profession, you are in the right place. Here I will tell you about how to get Experience Points (XP) fast! Could someone please put this at the top? Thanks.

It's a given that you get Medical XP by healing, or maybe it isn't. So, I'll say it: You get Medical XP for healing.
So I get XP for healing anyone, including myself? No, you only get Medical XP for healing another Player (PC). If you could get XP for healing yourself then how would you meet all the people that will give you money and resources for heals?
Do I need anything special to heal? Yes, you will need Stimpacks to start off. These are easy to make, start with Stim As, then as your Medical Knowledge grows you will be able to use Bs and Cs. You will also need Woundpacks (aka med packs or meds).
Where can I heal so I can get XP? The second most profitable profession (although it is not a profession) in the Galaxy(ies) is Tumbling. Tumbling is when a player uses the skill /tumbletostand to use Action pool points, and sometimes Health pool points. Tumblers, as they are called, are usually found in Medical Centers in larger towns -- Coronet, Corellia; Theed, Naboo; etc -- and usually like getting monetary re-imbursement (tips) for their time spent helping you. You can also heal Entertainers in the local cantina, but you can only heal damage not wounds.
I want to heal wounds outside the Medical Center, how can I do that? Wounds can only be healed inside a Medical Center or a camp, unless you have a Surgical Driod. If you want to buy a Surgical Droid, be ready to pay 45k+ (k=thousand). Many droids come with Medical abilities, most are R3 droids, Probots, and Surgcal droids, here are some things to look for when getting a droid:
- 110 Medical ability -- this is a MUST.
- Personal Crafting Station and a Food crafting Station -- these will let you craft anywhere as long as you have batteries for your droid, which is good for those long grinding sessions (will be covered later).
A side note: R3 droids have an extra datapad and storage, it's always good to have extra room for stims, meds and buffs. If you are on the Wanderhome server contact Eci, I have a waypoint for a great vendor on Coronet.
How can I make money while healing? You've already decided to spend 45k on a Medical Droid, now you need the money to buy it, eh? Well, it just so happens that people pay for healing (well some do)! Once you have some med packs, you can heal wounds on people in Medical Centers. Just go into your local Med Center, sit down on a bed, and wait for wounded people to come to you. NOTE: Not everyone will tip you, and it is bad form to charge for heals. So just go with the flow, sometimes you will get 100 cr (cheapos) and sometimes you will get 10k (1 in 50)! But most of the time you will get 1k or nothing.
A couple of way to raise your chances of getting tipped:
- Greet the wounded player -- everyone likes to interact with a cheerful player. Make sure they feel comfortable around you by saying "Hello" when they come up to you.
- If they don't ask, you ask -- ask if they want to be healed. If a guy comes in with his health and action bars half black ask him if he wants to be healed, he will most likely say yes. But he may not have known that you were willing to heal him.
- Talk, Talk, Talk -- keep a conversation going with the player as you heal him. Not only will this pass the time and heighten your chance of getting tipped, but it will also help you make a friend. I have made plenty of friends by doing this and I can go to any of them when I need something they supply, sometimes buying from them at a lower cost than they would usually sell for (There will be times when the player will not talk back; some players don't like to talk to others, or they may be busy doing something else while you heal them. Don't take it personal, just heal them and get on to the next person).
- Thank the person -- okay, I know, he should be the one thanking you, but remember your netiquitte, he just gave you XP (and hopefully a tip), thank him. People always like to be thanked, it makes them think they did something good and they will want to do it again, this may mean a return customer or a better tip.
I hope this helps. I'll be putting a Crafting section up next.

I will also point out that you can get an almost ideal medical droid in the form of a mouse droid, rather than a surgical droid. You can put in two modules, which will get you the crafting station and medical station you need. The upside of getting a mouse droid is it will run you approximately 4k give or take (plausible fora starting medic), rather than 40k (which will break your bank when starting).
