Thread: Devs Please read new skill idea for Master Medics FIRST AID 2

Ok we have first aid one which can take away bleed dots. Well now we need first aid 2. First aid 2 could either be a Master Medic ability which would make attaining master medic better or it could be put two slots above first aid 1. Now let me explain what first aid 2 would do.
First aid two would do the following.
Disease: Minimize and reduce the amount of time said disease depending on strength would last. This would also take lets say about 10 uses to eventually remove the disease. I think anything above 10 would be a bit much.
Poison: Same as disease and based on strength.
Flames: Not as serious as the other two and I think my char if smart enough to stop bleeding can put a fire out too. So with this skill make it around 3-5 shots of first aid 2 to put out the flames.
I think this idea is very much needed and would give Master Medic a great boost. My char is not so dumb as to be able to only stop severe bleeding but cannot do something to help with flames, disease, and poison? Now I know many of you would say but that takes Docs out of the picture but I don't see it as doing so. There are not many just Master Medics around and Docs would have these skills too. Make it so that a Doc can do this a bit faster or better so that we are still needed more. Also don't forget a doc can take these status effects out asap with our meds so what first aid 2 does is give players who are not near a doc or cannot find one to heal their disease or whatever a way to take care of it. I do not know how many times I have been in the med center or wherever and cannot help anyone with disease or poison or even flames because I have yet to reach the ability to do so yet.
Think about it I think this could work out for everyone even if it needs some tweaking.

I read your post in the doc forum first and replied there, but I'll paste the same reply here.
While I'd love to see medics being able to do minor poison/disease healing as per RL, I don't see it fitting with the current structure of the game where it takes an elite profession to apply poisons and diseases, I see it as being only fair that an elite profession removes it.
To add that to medic would require a complete 3 profession redesign, which would I feel only lessen the importance of the 2 elite professions derived from medic and blur the lines of what each profession does.
Feel free to attempt a 3 profession redesign yourself, we're all open to ideas. But keep in mind this is a game, and games require balance.

Just to point outsomething you might not have realized, you are correct that there are very few pure master medics. However, every combat medic is also a master medic, so you will be giving "doctor" abilities to more people than you realize.
Iagree with your idea though for the most part (although I'm not sure I would implement it in the exact manner you suggested). I agree that journeyman and master medics should be able to do something about poisons anddiseases, albeit at dramatically less effectiveness than doctors. Then again, there are many issues to consider here (such as how it would nerf doctors, and how it would nerf and/or strengthen combat medics), so the issue is not very clear cut...

But that is why it takes a lot of First Aid shots to heal or shorten the time the effect lasts. I mean how is it unbalancing to make it a master medic ability so that not everyone can have it? Then Docs and CMs will already have it becuase you have to have master medic to be those classes.
Put it in the Master Medic box or even better move it up to the Novice Doc box or even CM box too. It doesn't have to be a medic skill then. My point is as a Doctor I cannot heal disease, or poison unitl almost master unless I grind up the one box in Doc and yet a CM can be throwing poisons and disease if weak ones from the start. Kind of strange why it takes a level 4box before I can even cure certain things. It would not kill the game or even hurt it if Docs had a first aid 2 or 3 skill in novice Doc and could use lets say 10 first aid shots to cure the poison. That way people like me and many others could at least be helpful to those who come into the med center diseased and such but I cannot help them yet.
