I am a ranged combat profession with 28 points to spare for Medic skills (enough for two complete lines or the equivalent). I usually play solo, so I am not really concerned with the ability to heal other players at a distance, but am looking to have the highest possible self-healing power during combat, with minimal action cost. Any suggestions what tobuild for a medic template?

I am in the same boat except I have fewer skills to put into medic. I currently have medic2020 and only have enough sp left to level one or the other '2' branches to level 4 and I was wondering which would be a better use of sp. The descriptions of the skills are a little confusing so a translation would be much appreciated. ie. what does 'augmentation' and 'efficiency' translate to?

Uthyr, if you have 28 skill points after novice medic, I'd suggest medic 0440. This will get you the best heals short of an elite medic profession or master medic, and give you three different heals that operate on seperate timers so you can heal yourself almost constantly if need be. If the 28 skill points are before novice medic, I'd suggest either medic 0030 or medic 0220. The first would give you a single, more powerful heal, where as the second gives you two slightly less powerful heals that can both be used in the same period as the single heal.

Wookie-mart, I'd suggest either medic 0240. This gives you two fairly powerful heals. Augmentation affects the length of buffs, efficency affects the strength of a heal, and bio-suppresion affects the offensive CM abilities (not quite sure how, never was very interested in them).

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I said I had 28 points to spare. I actually have 44 points to spare, pre-Medic. Somebody else gave me the idea to take the points that I would have put into medic 0440 and instead put them into Combat Medic. CM 2000 (with the Medic 0400 prerequisite) gives 10 more points of healing effieciency than Medic 0440, for the same number of skill points, with all the same bacta injections, and it also gives some melee and ranged defense. It gives Neurotoxin too, but I doubt it would be very effective at that level. Alternatively, I could go CM 0200 for some extra offensive mods, but again I don't know if the offensive abilities would be of much use at that level compared with the healing efficiency that I could instead gain.
