Thread: Newbie/Novice Medic Question on Organic Chemistry 1

I started out as a medic, and was trying to work towards Organic Chemistry 1.

I found that I could make a food and chemical crafting kit at novice medic, so I did so, and got no xp.

I then found I could make a stimpack a, but that it required a biological effects controller and a liquid suspension that I could not make until I actually got Organic Chemistry 1, which I am working towards. I found 1 biological effects controller for sale in my galaxy for 3k. And a few liquid suspensions for about 300 each. I went out and pioloted a while to get some money (thank goodness I got that expansion) and was able to buy the 1 biological effects controller the galaxy after much travelling about.

For all of this, I got 30 xp towards Organic chemistry 1. At this rate, it will cost me over 50k to get Organic Chemistry 1 (if I ever find another biological effects controller, that is), not to mention time spent gaining money, basicallytime spent doing other professions. Of course I cannot hang out in hospitals to heal others for any type of xp, for it seems I cannot heal that black damage yet, and no one comes to hospitals for temporary injuries.

I have other things, like Artisan, scout, and entertainer, that I can justbasicallyjumpright in and do, but I really want to go the medic route. Is the medical profession sopowerful that it has to be something you cannotfocus on entirely? Also at this rate I will never get Organic Chemistry 1, no matter how many credits I get from other professions. It is impossible, for there are no more biological effects controllers inmy Galaxy.Or am I missing something? Any help would be great!

Thanks.

You don't need to include the Bio-Effect Controller or the Liquid Suspention components in the construction of StimeA's, they purely there as optional boost to the healing level of the item, all you need is organic & inorganic resources to start crafting.

This is a good talking point, and I agree this is completely confusing to new players. An issue needs to be added by our Medic Corespondant that the crafitng menu needs to somehow mark these items as ""optional". This would also apply to other schematics in other professions with optional components.

The schematic in the datapad says the two componants are (optional), the details on the StimA using a crafting tool kit says (optional) and the crafting process says that the componants are (optional). There are 3 distinct and obvious instances that states it's optional and it's been written as such on the forum as optional.
