Was told by another player not a CSR that his friend was banned for Tumble to standing while he healed him. Anyone know of this? Seems stupid but I wouldn't put it past SOE.

Tumble to standing has HAM costs involved. A player can stand in one place and spam it while his medic buddy keeps laying on the heals for XP until he runs out of stims.

Common grind for Medics but mostly used by people who want to quickly get to Combat Medic...

But the question stil remains, is it an exploit? Personally I don't see the difference in someone dancing and losing HAM and someone tumble to standing and losing HAM.

Just wanted to make sure that what I was doing was legit and not an exploit.

Its a little on the grey side (Other then being kinda lame). I would say it is deffinatly wrong, if you create a macro and do it. Its just morally wrong if you are actually at the keyboard doing it.

However, I have learned that if Im out in battle, after wefinish the guy off and Im working with someone I know, I will ask them to tumble to stand to take out the rest of their HAM, that way when I use my stim D, I get the most for my money.

Morally wrong? lol

At most you may label this as "Improper use of an approved game function". If SOE doesn't like it then they need to alter the code. To label someone as being immoral for 1.) playing a game and 2.) doing something that you personally don't agree with is hilarious.

Yup, and no different than camping a cantina healing an entertainer endlessly either. I'd doubt SOE banned anyone for this myself. There simply is no way to regulate nor guard or stop anyone from doing this. Nor is there a way to stop someone from camping the cantina. Heck, why should they?

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Not quite an exploit but not the right way to level. The case Kyller brings up about getting the most out of a stim D heal is about the only morally Ok use of it I can think of.

If I were a CSR and I saw people doing it in a grind loop I'd probably give them a time out too... Not a full ban but a time out.

As seen by a dirty old TK ho...these are the rules they gave us..we play in their game under there assigned rules...as far as i can tell exploits cannot exist when they are the coders. It is impossible for us to break the rules they have set for us, finding work arounds is playing the game. The immoral part is that we spend so much time playing this game instead of living our lives....but i rather enjoy my sinning and i say tumble away 8^). BTW i have never used this particular technique, we still got xp for healing pets when i did medic.
