Holy crap, i just got organic chem 4 and all the advanced components like ABECs take a bunch of planet specific resources. I know that for me the only way I will be able to get this stuff is to buy it. I would have to buy a bunch of harvesters and put them on a bunch of planets, I can't do that, heh. So i was wondering if you could share some suggestions on how/where i can get a hold of the resources needed to make these advanced components.

Thanks

Set up a harvester of Lok, Set up a harvester of Tatooine. Put enough money and power in it to last 5 days to a week or so. Check at the end of the time period. Two harvesters. (The Advanced LSs are also fairly easy to get and can add a lot of oomph to your stims.)

If you really are that against setting up harvesters you can typically find someone else to do it for you, or maybe even shout "WTB Lok Wild Wheat and Tatooinian Fiberplast" you might find someone.

Of course you don't *really* need the advanced components, you can do fairly well using the regulars only if you don't feel like having to travel that far.

Heh, I know what you mean... actually, I just noticed in Zalor's recent Medic Issues post that this was brought up as a problem for many medics, you might want to give it a vote!

For grinding out Org Chem XP, you don't need the advanced components, so if you can't find the stuff it's not going to stop you getting to Master Doc. However, if you want to make decent meds for yourself - or even to sell on to other medics - you're going to have to be able to include at least some Advanced components in each product... and good luck finding the resources, I've really been struggling! Irritatingly, there's just no dolovite iron on my server and the Tat fiberplast has a shocking OQ, so I've just had to accept that I'm not going to be able to make decent woundpacks for some time yet (as I can't make ASDSs at all, and my ABECs aren't exactly drawing in the punters!).

Ah well... in the long run, tracking down the resources is actually an integral part of the game, and it's forced me, for the first time in months, to really have to co-operate with someone outside of my profession who's helping me with harvesters and loaning me a factory... he gets a share of the product and sells to vendors in private medical centers, I get to make my own meds and to run around feeling like a businesslizard for a while!

Couple of things....

I agree with Noodle in that if you only use one advanced component the liquid suspension stuff is the way to go.

If you don't have the funds to mine everything, work out a deal there you will mine dantooine berries and split your stock with somebody who mines water from talus, etc. I did this for a very little while, but I sold some advanced resource components to a medical suply person for a discount on other resources. Ended up that eventually I had enough money ot was cheaper to do myself. What I do now is mine one resource at a time for a week, then switch planets.

Hope that helps.

Well i thought about it last night, and i guess i can just concentrate on the resources for one of the components at a time. Just get a bunch then move on to the next ones. I have some guild members who could help me. Thanks.

For the lowest time commitment, that's your answer. Use www.swgcraft.com to figure out what is best and what is fairly new (so you don't get a shift right after you place your harvesters). Just plop however many harvesters you have lots for at a single resource at a time.

If you can find someone to trade resources with, you can effectively act like you are harvesting on multiple planets without the headaches of maintaining harvesters on multiple planets.

I carry all the resources for advanced components in my store on Kettemoor. I know there are other medical resource dealers around, too. However, I am charging 10 c/u currently for any off-world items (I am on Naboo). Trying to upgrade my pricing, though, to reflect quality as well as scarcity. This will make some items less expensive, and others more so. I find that the hardest part about medical supplies is setting a fair price, so I've been researching the forums to come up with some forumula to use. If you look at prices on the bazaar, they fluctuate madly.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?
