Thread: Unable to Drag Incapacitated Player Even though I have the skill

I recently got the ability to drag incapacitated player. While out hunting one of my group got incapacitated so I thought I would try it out, only to get a message to say that this had no affect on your target. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong. We had no TEF's and were grouped. Any ideas.

It's the Rebels, sir. They're here.

No, I think there after something more than that, sir. I don't know what it is, but they've brought a flag

I could be wrong (havens know it won't be the first time), but I'm pretty sure that the incap'd player must explicitly grant you permission to drag him/her/it.

Eithe /consent must be given (in which case you get a message saying that) OR you just need to be grouped. You also have to be within a certain distance (I keep thinking 19m for some reason) and the target cannot have a TEF for a different faction (or any TEFs at all, if you happen to be neutral.)

I was grouped with the person I was trying to drag and we had no TEFS and he didnt get a concent box. Could possibly be that I was either too close or too far away. I will try if from 19m next time.

Well there's no such thing as too close, but being too far is all too common. Sometimes server or client lag will be enough so that even if you are on top of the person you want to /drag it will still tell you you are too far away. Very annoying. (It's on our Issues list, at least.)

There have also been reports of some odd instances where it won't let you /drag someone, as if they had a TEF, which sometimes seems to be gotten from just some NPCs as if they were a faction of their own. Ihaven't narrowed that one down myself, but some folks have reported that as being a possible vector for the problem.

Can you use a /heal or /tend command on the person you are trying to /drag when the /drag fails?

When you try to drag, it will not generate a /consent box for him after your drag attempt automatically.

He must /consent before you drag (of his own free will).

...At least not the last time I did it.

Yeah, but he said they were grouped. The last time I was doing any dragging (which admittedly was probably a couple of months ago) you didn't need /consent if you were grouped.

BTW, the two issues that we do have on the list dealing with /drag are "Incapacitated Player Location Problems" on the Bugs list and Rooms/Dungeons and /dragIncap also on the Bugs list. Which is a good reminder, though. Was the person you were trying to /drag in a Dungeon at the time, or in a house or building?

Room / Dungeon also includes server boundaries oustside.
