Thread: Components and Resourses

Hi all,

These questions have propably been asked before but I haven't been able to find the answers so hopefully you can help me as you have all been in this situation before.

Please don't chew me out.

1. Does it matterwhat the quality of the resources used in the creationof components destined to make stims and packs (e.g an advance biological effects controller)?

Will it effect the final out come of the final stim or pack?

If so how much difference?

Is it worth waiting for the higher stat resources to come along?

2. Is there a big difference in the final product if you use say a standard bio controller or an advanced one?

Thanks for your time.

1. Yes resource quality makes a huge difference in the subcomponents quality.

2. Yes, advanced components make quite a large difference in the final product.

In almost all cases, the stats for the subcomponent simply add to the stats for the final assembly. So if you are getting a 200 power Stim B using a 20 power LS, you would get a 230 power Stim B using a 50 power LS and a 330 power Stim B using a 150 power ALS, all other components and resources being identical.

No problem. We try to help here on the forums.

Yes. To see which attributes of the resource influence which properties of the components, refer to the component's schematic.

Yes.

The difference depends on how many experimentation points you have, how successful you are during experimentation, where you place your experimentation points, and the limitations placed on experimentation by the resources you use.

If you can make advanced components, I'd suggest you do so with the best resources available to you at the time. You can always get the good stuff when it comes along. An advanced component made with crap resources will always be better than a regular component made with the best resources. 2 resources you should never attempt to wait on are dolovite iron and class 4 liquid petro fuel as those are rare resource spawns.

2. Is there a big difference in the final product if you use say a standard bio controller or an advanced one?

Yes. Remeber to always experiment your BECs and ABECs for charges. This is your only chance to influence the number of charges on your final product through your components and the power gains on this component are negligible. There are some exceptions and finer intricacies to crafting in the doctor tree with master doc stuff, but since we're not in that forum, those exceptions do not apply.

Thanks for your time.

No problem. Hope I helped.
