Thread: The Ultimate Newbie Question
I just became a medic and have little to no idea of what im doing, which will be obvious with the post.
Anyway, for stimpacks i need 8 organic and 8 inorganic materials
First problem: The need to be 8 of the same organic resource? this is going to take forever, how do you medics get so many?
Second problem: I have done medical forage many times and have not yet come across an inorganic resource, how do you get these?
These are my problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yes the have to be identical...
u can get 8 easy when u survey/sample..
dont use /medicalforage its broken for the most part...
or if u dont wanna survey/sample buy some from the bazaar
I feel so bad that you were relying on medicalforage without knowing that it really isn't worth it... and will hinder your attempts at getting med pack materials.
Would anyone be willing to make a list of the commands that (at this time) are broken or somewhat worthless to medics so that people won't waste time using them simply because they're new?

I've found that the best way to get started as a medic is not to start as a medic at all. Start as an artisan instead, and you get surveying tools and abilities. Then just migrate your stats, maxing out all mind stats first. Since you didn't start as a medic, you don't start with any stims, but you can make them since you have surveying equipment. If you're a newbie medic in the med center and don't have any meds, I'm sure any decent medic or doctor will make you a couple of med or stim A's (at least that's what I did when a novice medic near me didn't have any). That's the path I took, and I didn't have any major problems making stims.
As for /medicalforage, apparently it was useful in beta, but then they changed the requirements for stim-A's (or something like that, I wasn't in beta)
