Hi all, just wondering what everyones opinion on the best way of getting Apprentice xp since its the only skill which is entirly dependent on other players.

Now that ive grinded up to all the medic trees, I still need another 200 apprentice xp before I get ding up to Master medic, but I cant force people to receive training, so how do I get the much needed XP?

I do not know about your specific situation (server), but in my case, I am still working on Master Medic (am at level 3 on all but first aid - 4), but all I do is wait in the medical centers during high traffic periods. Someone almost always comes in looking for training on something (although I also have the first two levels of each Marksman skill, too). Since using this strategy, I have capped out at 1240 Apprentice XP, so when I finally reach Master Medic, I will be all set. NOTE: About 400 of those points HAVE come out in the field, while I was gathering organics....

The best way is actually not just play 1 profession.

If you jsut play medic, you are very limited.

If you ahve a broader character, medic, pistol, scout for example, you can get a lot more apprentice XP.

Even if you plan on doing more than 1 thing, but wanted to max out 1 profession first, you are really just hurting yourself.

To make it worse, most medic centers are pretty cut-throat about apprentice XP, becasue there may be as many as 5-10 people there all just playing medic, with no other options.

I made most of my master medic points teaching surveying, carbine sklills (and of all things) entertainer stuff.

The med centre can be a good place for getting Apprentice xp, but only if medic is the only string to your bow.

I saw far more people coming into the Cantinas looking for skills to be taught. I would personally recommend going there, but only if you have more than just medic skills.

I had the same problem but got very lucky when someone who didn't need the medical xp they had learnt Pharm I off me about 10 times in a row.

Heh, I was kinda wondering if there was an exploit to get Apprentice xp by grabbing a friend and training them in a skill, let them surrender the skill and then re-train them..

Not that ive tried it, but I though about it

Ill do the honest thing and ask around, I will try the cantinas but I do mainly have only medic skills, a few scout and a few Marksman (pistol).

yeah you canm, but with XP caps... to get a lot of abuse is hard.

Survey IV is 50 points though, and the cap is 2 trainings of it...

I did that a few times with my friends. We both had 20k surveying XP and were capped. We unlearnt Surveying 4 twice and so each of us got 100 apprentice xp. The rest of mine came from teacing other medics. I am not sure how it is on other servers but I always find someone who is in need of teaching every day. I am at 800 apprentice XP at the moment and am only half way through Doc. For some reason, I seem to get the Apprentice XP before I am even half way to the skill.

I would agree that getting lots of other skills under your belt will allow you to get apprentice XP faster. If I only was a medic, I think I would be at 200 apprentice XP. Just get some newer skills such as pistol 1 or something. I've found that people are ALWAYS looking for that...no matter what.
